Van H. Wanggaard
Van H. Wanggaard (born April 19, 1952) is a Republican politician and former law enforcement officer. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing Racine and Kenosha counties since January 5, 2015. He was previously elected to the same office in 2010, but was removed by recall election in June 2012. Background/family life Born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Wanggaard graduated from Racine Lutheran High School in 1970. He then graduated from Gateway Technical College with a certificate in Police Science Instruction. Wanggard also took course work at University of Wisconsin–Extension, University of Wisconsin–Parkside, Green Bay Technical College, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Racine Technical College, Gateway Technical College, Wisconsin State Patrol Academy, and the United States Coast Guard National SAR School. Wisconsin's 21st State Senate District
The 21st Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Kenosha and Racine counties. The district includes the city of Burlington and part of the city of Racine, as well as the villages of Bristol, Caledonia, Paddock Lake, Pleasant Prairie, Rochester, Salem Lakes, Sturtevant, Twin Lakes, and Union Grove, and the portions of the villages of Mount Pleasant and Somers west of Wisconsin Highway 31. George Petak
George Petak (born November 6, 1949) is an American Republican politician and political consultant who was the first Wisconsin state legislator to be removed from office in a recall election. Early life and education Born in Warren, Ohio, Petak graduated from Kent State University. He was hired by Ametek's Lamb Electric division in 1973 and worked in several administrative positions. In 1976, he moved to Sturtevant, Wisconsin to take on the role of quality control manager at an Ametek manufacturing plant in neighboring Racine. Political career In 1983, Petak was elected to the Racine Unified School Board. He was re-elected in 1986 and 1989. In 1990, he was elected to the Wisconsin State Senate, defeating the incumbent Senate Majority Leader Joseph A. Strohl, who was enmeshed in controversy over his (Strohl's) opposition to a parental consent law for minor girls seeking an abortion. Scott Walker (politician)
Scott Kevin Walker (born November 2, 1967) is an American politician who served as the 45th governor of Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019. He is a member of the Republican Party. Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Walker was raised in Plainfield, Iowa and in Delavan, Wisconsin. He was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1992, representing a district in western Milwaukee County. In 2002, Walker was elected Milwaukee County Executive in a special election following the resignation of F. Thomas Ament; he was elected to a full term in 2004 and was re-elected in 2008. Walker ran for Governor of Wisconsin in 2006, but dropped out of the race before the primary election. He ran again in 2010 and won.
