Valère Somé
Valère Dieudonné Somé (17 October 1950 – 30 May 2017) was a politician and scholar from Burkina Faso. Biography Entering the revolutionary process of 1983 with the support from the student movement, Somé came to play an important role in the political life of the country during the rule of the Revolutionary National Council led by Thomas Sankara. Burkina Faso (, ; , ff, 𞤄𞤵𞤪𞤳𞤭𞤲𞤢 𞤊𞤢𞤧𞤮, italic=no) is a landlocked country in West Africa with an area of , bordered by Mali to the northwest, Niger to the northeast, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and the Ivory Coast to the southwest. The Sankarist Pan-African Convention () was a political party in Burkina Faso. CPS was formed in 2000, through the merger of the Burkinabè Socialist Bloc, Party of United Social Democracy and a fraction of the Social Forces Front. The party is led by Ernest Nongma Ouédraogo, former Minister of Security in the government of Thomas Sankara. The party is Sankarist.
