Valtetsi
Valtetsi ( el, Βαλτέτσι) is a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Tripoli, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 210.243 km2. Population 917 (2011). The seat of the municipality was in Asea. Valtetsi is located in the highlands southwest of Tripoli and northeast of Megalopoli. Valtetsi (village)
Valtetsi ( el, Βαλτέτσι) is a village in the municipal unit of Valtetsi, Arcadia, Greece. It is located in the Central Peloponessus in what is called ''Ορεινή Αρκαδία'' (Greek: Mountainous Arcadia) at a distance of 12 km west of Tripoli and an altitude of 1,050 m. It is a small plain terrain surrounded by four hills: ''Chomatovouni'', ''Mylos'', ''Katsikeika'' and ''Dovrouleika''. It is considered a traditional settlement. Historical Synopsis It was later improved by a migration of Tsakonians on their way to Attica due to their shepherd's life and also some Souliotes chased by the Ottomans resettled in the village. Valtetsi used to be an isolated place, connected to other villages with three narrow paths only, each one guiding to the major mounts in the region: one to the Taygetus, other to the Menalus and the third to the Parnon. Agriakona ( el, Αγριακόνα) is a village in the municipal unit of Valtetsi, Arcadia, Greece. In the year of 2011 Agriakona had a population of 39. Agriakona is situated in a remote area at the southeastern foot of the Tsemperou mountain, at 660 m elevation. It is 3 km northeast of Skortsinos, 5 km south of Dafni, 7 km northwest of Kollines, 16 km southeast of Megalopoli and 23 km southwest of Tripoli. Asea ( el, Ασέα; before 1927: Κανδρέβα ''Kandreva'') is a village and a community in Arcadia, Greece, in the Peloponnese peninsula. Asea is situated on a hillside at about 800 m elevation. It is 2 km northeast of Athinaio, 11 km east of Megalopoli and 14 km southwest of Tripoli. Asea was the seat of the municipality of Valtetsi. The community Asea consists of the villages Asea (population 85 in 2011) and Kato Asea (pop. 47) which is the more affluent and cosmopolitan of the two villages. Kerastaris ( el, Κεραστάρης) is a village in the municipal unit of Valtetsi, Municipality of Tripoli, Arcadia, Greece. It is situated on a hillside north of the river Alfeios at the southwestern foot of Mount Agios Ilias (or Profitis Ilias, 1100 m).
