Vallø Castle
Vallø Castle ( da, Vallø Slot) is a manor house located 7 km south of Køge, in Stevns Municipality, on the island of Zealand in Denmark. It now serves as a residence for Vallø stift, a home for unmarried, widowed and divorced women of noble descent. History Vallø traces its history back to the 14th century. From 1554 to 1651 it was divided into two separate estates, West Vallø and East Vallø. In 1708 Vallø was acquired by King Frederick IV who passed it on to Anne Sophie Reventlow. In 1731 King Christian VI passed the property on to Queen Sophia Magdalene who in 1737 founded the Noble Vallø Foundation for Unmarried Daughters (da. ''Det Adelige Stift Vallø for ugifte døtre''). Building Vallø consists of four wings with robust towers and is surrounded by a moat. Stevns Municipality
Stevns is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Sjælland on the southeast coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in south Denmark. The municipality covers an area of , and has a population of 22,782 (1 January 2019). The municipality covers most of Stevns Peninsula. The third largest town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hårlev. On 1 January 2007 Stevns municipality, as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), merged with Vallø municipality to form an enlarged Stevns municipality. Vallø - Slotsgaden
Vallø was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Roskilde County on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in East Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 84 km2, and had a total population of 10,337 (2005). Its last mayor was Poul Arne Nielsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Overview The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hårlev. Neighboring municipalities were Køge to the northwest, Rønnede and Fakse to the southwest, and Stevns to the southeast, to the northeast is Køge Bay (''Køge Bugt''). On January 1, 2007, Vallø municipality was, as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), merged with the existing municipality of Stevns to form a new Stevns Municipality. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television. Upon its establishment, it had first begun its experimental test transmissions, and then, two years later, it had therefore commenced its official broadcast on 1 October 1988, with its first program being ''Danish Symphony'' which is broadcast at 17:00, followed by the news at 19:30. ''The Olsen Gang Sees Red'' ( da, Olsen-banden ser rødt) is a 1976 Danish comedy film directed by Erik Balling and starring Ove Sprogøe, Morten Grunwald and Poul Bundgaard. The film was the eighth in the Olsen Gang-series, and was selected as the Danish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 49th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. Plot Egon is released once again from the prison in Vridsløselille, where he is received by Kjeld and Benny, after which they drive home to Kjeld and Yvonne. However, Yvonne is not very fond of Egon as he is constantly being arrested. Also present is Fie, who is to marry Børge, who always smashes the porcelain of the house. The gang starts discussing their upcoming coup, which is about a Chinese vase worth DKK 1.5 million, which is to be sold to a Dutch buyer. The ''Olsen Gang'' ( da, Olsen-banden, no, Olsenbanden, german: Die Olsenbande) is a Danish comedy film series created by Danish director Erik Balling and special effects expert Henning Bahs about the eponymous fictional criminal gang. The gang's leader is the criminal genius and habitual offender Egon Olsen and his accomplices are Benny and Kjeld (Kjell in Norwegian). The gang members are harmless, extremely rarely target ordinary citizens, and never deliberately use violence. The first film came in 1968; during the next thirty years a total of fourteen films were made. A Norwegian version of the film series was also made (a total of 14 films from 1969 to 1999), in most cases based directly on the scripts for the Danish films. Frederik Moltke (1754–1836) was a Danish politician and Prime Minister of Denmark. He also served as the County Governor of several counties and dioceses in the Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Denmark during his career. He was appointed County Governor of Bratsberg amt in 1781 (in Norway), and then in 1788, he was appointed as the Diocesan Governor of Christianssand stiftamt (and served simultaneously as the County Governor of Nedenæs amt). Regitze Vilhelmine Louise Augusta Barner (28 February 1834 – 2 December 1911) was a Danish noblewoman, philanthropist and writer. She is remembered for her efforts to facilitate conditions and opportunities for women, both young and old. These included her involvement in the Deaconess Foundation (''Diakonissestiftelsen'') and the Prison Association (''Fængselsselskabet''). In 1879, she founded and chaired the Society for the Protection of Single Women (''Foreningen til Værn for enligt stillede Kvinder'') which was designed to prevent young women turning to prostitution. In addition to a history of the Deaconess Foundation, shortly before her death she wrote an autobiography which was published in two volumes in 1911.
