Valley Forge Flag, based in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, is one of the largest U.S. flag manufacturers. The company was founded in 1882. It has a large wet printing facility in Olanta, South Carolina. History During the 1930s, Valley Forge Flag was listed on multiple city, county and school district budget reports as a supplier of American flags for daily and ceremonial occasions, including daily flag raisings at public schools and local, state and federal government agencies across the United States and for decorating graves at community cemeteries on Memorial Day. Wyomissing is a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The borough was established on July 2, 1906. As of the 2020 census, the population was 11,114, compared to 10,461 at the 2010 census. The growth was significantly larger between 2000 and 2010 largely due to its merger in January 2002 with neighboring Wyomissing Hills. Wyomissing is the most populous borough in Berks County. The flags of the Confederate States of America have a history of three successive designs during the American Civil War. Charleston Church Shooting
On June 17, 2015, a mass shooting occurred in Charleston, South Carolina, in which nine African Americans were killed during a Bible study at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Among those people who were killed was the senior pastor, state senator Clementa C. Pinckney. This church is one of the oldest black churches in the United States, and it has long been a center for organizing events which are related to civil rights. The morning after the attack, police arrested Dylann Roof in Shelby, North Carolina; a 21-year-old white supremacist who had attended the Bible study before he committed the shooting. He was found to have targeted members of this church because of its history and status. Roof was found competent to stand trial in federal court.
