The Valley 8 Conference was an athletic conference consisting of teams from the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. The conference was formed in 1999 and lasted 8 years until 2007 when 6 teams left to form the Eastern Valley, while Hortonville and Oconto Falls joined the Bay Conference. Eastern Valley Conference
The North Eastern Conference is a high school athletic conference made up of ten teams in northeastern Wisconsin, centering primarily around the Green Bay, Fox Valley and Marinette County areas. Conference schools are members of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. Conference history The North Eastern Conference was founded as the Eastern Valley Conference in 2007 as a merger of four teams from the East Central Conference and six teams from the Valley 8 Conference. 2013 In 2013, the WIAA unveiled plans for a new structure of several area conferences. The plan called for the departure of Berlin, Ripon, and Winneconne of the Eastern Valley to the revived East Central Conference, with Xavier going to the Bay Conference. Bay Conference
The Bay Conference is a high school athletics conference made up of eight teams in northeastern Wisconsin, centering primarily around the Green Bay and Fox Valley metropolitan areas. Conference schools are members of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. Conference history 1970–2007 The Bay Conference was established in 1970 by charter members Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, Clintonville, De Pere, Marinette, Oconto, Oconto Falls, Pulaski, Seymour, and West De Pere. 1979 brought the addition of former East Central Conference member New London and former Wisconsin Valley Conference member Shawano, in exchange for Oconto and Oconto Falls, who would go to the Central Wisconsin Conference. Freedom High School (Wisconsin)
Freedom High School (FHS) is a public high school in Freedom, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Freedom Area School District. History The first public school in Freedom began in 1863 in the home of early settler Nicholas July, and the first high school was built in 1905. That wooden building burned down in 1927 or 1928, and was replaced by a brick building. With funding from the Works Progress Administration, a gymnasium was added in 1938, and other major additions were built in 1956 and 1972. Since 1972, voters have approved referendums to build more classrooms, a library, and a fieldhouse. In November 2017, voters rejected a US$66.7 million school referendum to build a new high school. In January 2019, the school district proposed a reduced referendum for a US$55.7 million project, to be on the ballot on April 2, 2019. Fox Valley Lutheran High School (FVLHS or FVL) is a private, Lutheran, co-educational high school in Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1953 and is owned by a group of congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). History In 1946, various Wisconsin Synod members in the Fox River Valley area began to discuss the possible creation of a "Valley Lutheran High School." When the school was founded in 1953, it began classes with only eight students and one full-time teacher, meeting in a school building rented from the Appleton School District. By the mid-1950s, enrollment had grown, and the school relocated to its own building at 2626 N. Oneida Street in 1957. Hortonville High School
Hortonville High School is a high school located in Hortonville, Wisconsin. The only high school in the Hortonville Area School District, it serves students in grades 9 to 12 from the communities of Hortonville and Greenville, and portions of Center, Dale, Ellington, Grand Chute, Hortonia, and Liberty. The East Central Conference is a high school athletic conference of teams in the East Central Wisconsin area. The ECC was founded in 1970 and originally disbanded in 2007. The conference was revived for the 2015-2016 school year, the result of a realignment within the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. The Fox Valley Association is an athletic conference comprising ten high schools located within the Fox Valley region of northeastern Wisconsin. The management of the conference is vested in the principals of the member schools, who determine the rules governing the eligibility of athletes and the schedules. Rules and regulations may not be less restrictive than those of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association.
