Valle Vista is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is in central Santa Fe County, southwest of downtown Santa Fe, the state capital. It is bordered to the east by New Mexico State Road 14, and Interstate 25 passes just to the northwest of the community, with access from Exit 276 ( State Road 599/Veterans Memorial Highway). State Road 14 leads south-southwest to Interstate 40 at Tijeras, while I-25 leads southwest to Albuquerque and east to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Tijeras, New Mexico
Tijeras is a village in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Albuquerque metropolitan area. Pre-Columbian The Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site is located in Tijeras at 35° 04′ 30″ N, 106° 23′ 01.″ The site was occupied by Ancestral Pueblo people from about 1313 CE to 1425 CE. In the first phase of its occupation the Tijeras Pueblo had about 200 rooms in terraced buildings arranged in a "U" shape with a large ceremonial Kiva at the center. The pueblo was partially abandoned after about 1360 but rebuilding began about 1390, although the pueblo never regained its previous size. It was abandoned about 1425. The reasons for the abandonment of the pueblo are unknown, although it may have been because of drought and water shortages. The Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site is open to visitors. New Mexico State Road 14 (NM 14) is an approximately state road located in northern New Mexico. The highway connects Albuquerque to Santa Fe and comprises most of the Turquoise Trail, a National Scenic Byway which also includes NM 536 (Sandia Crest Scenic Byway).
