Valina
Valina was an indie, noise rock, post-hardcore group from Linz, Austria, which existed from 1995 to 2016. They released several records on Trost Records and played many shows in Europe, the United States, Russia, Mexico and South America. The last four full-length albums were recorded by Steve Albini in Chicago. The band began recording music in 1997, releasing several 7-inch records and full-length albums. The full-length albums have been released on their Austrian label Trost Records. Both ''Vagabond'' and the '' Epode EP'' have been released in the States by 54°40' or Fight!. Joyful Noise Recordings is an independent record label from Indianapolis, Indiana. The label was founded in 2003 in Bloomington, Indiana by Karl Hofstetter, who also played drums on many of the label's first releases. Joyful Noise maintains an active roster of over 30 bands playing various musical styles, though according to the label, each artist "in one way or another bridges the gap between pop and noise." Trost Records
Trost Records is a record label located in Vienna. History In the early 1990s, Trost was founded as a tape label, releasing records of Austrian alternative and underground bands, such as Valina, , and Holly May. In 2011, the sublabel Cien Fuegos was established which primarily releases free jazz re-issues. Moreover, Trost started to closely cooperate with artists like Peter Brötzmann, , Mats Gustafsson, Alexander von Schlippenbach. In 2013, Trost released the five-CD set ''Long Story Short'', featuring recordings from the ''Wels Unlimited'' festival held in Austria in November 2011, to celebrate the birthday of Peter Brötzmann. Post-hardcore Groups
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. Gramophone Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Steve Albini
Steve Albini (pronounced ; born July 22, 1962) is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer and music journalist. He was a member of Big Black, Rapeman and Flour, and is a member of Shellac. He is the founder, owner and principal engineer of Electrical Audio, a recording studio complex in Chicago. In 2018, Albini estimated that he had worked on several thousand albums over his career. He has worked with acts such as Nirvana, Pixies, the Breeders, PJ Harvey, and former Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.
