Valery Rashkin
Valery Fyodorovich Rashkin (russian: Валерий Фёдорович Рашкин; born 14 March 1955) is a Russian politician who was a deputy for the Communist Party in the State Duma in 2000–2022. From March 2003 to April 2021, he was a member of the Presidium of the party's Central Committee. Biography Early life Valery Rashkin was born on 14 March 1955 in the village of Zhilino, Nemansky District, Kaliningrad Oblast, in a large family of collective farmers. In 1977, he received a diploma in mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Instrumentation of the Saratov Polytechnic Institute and was sent to work at the local production association "Corpus". 2021 Russian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Russia from 17 to 19 September 2021. At stake were 450 seats in the 8th convocation of the State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly. Going into the elections, United Russia was the ruling party after winning the 2016 elections with 343 of the 450 seats, and retaining a supermajority. In March 2020, it was proposed to hold a snap election in September 2020 due to proposed constitutional reforms, but this idea was abandoned. On 18 June 2021 Vladimir Putin signed a decree calling the election for 19 September the same year. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia, voting in the election lasted for three days, from 17 to 19 September. Final turnout was reported to be 51.72%. The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 7th convocation (russian: Государственная Дума Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации седьмого созыва) is a former convocation of the lower house of Russian parliament. Results Of The 2016 Russian Legislative Election By Constituency
Legislative elections were held in Russia on 18 September 2016. Of the 450 seats in the State Duma, half were elected in single-member constituencies. The results are detailed in the table below. Summary Out of 206 constituencies in which United Russia ran a candidate, they won 203, losing 3 contests to the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Out of 19 constituencies which did not have a United Russia candidate, 7 were won by A Just Russia, 5 by Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, 4 by Communist Party, and 1 each by an independent candidate, Civic Platform and Rodina.
