Suzanne "Sue" Pluskoski Lowden (; born February 8, 1952) Payment required to read article. is the former Chairwoman of the Nevada Republican Party and a former Nevada state senator. Lowden is a former businesswoman, television news anchor and kindergarten teacher. Lowden was an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2010 United States Senate election in Nevada and the 2014 Nevada Lt. Governor election. A native of National Park, New Jersey raised by a single mother, Lowden is a graduate of American University and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Richard L. "Tick" Segerblom (born August 4, 1948) is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Clark County Commission from District E. First elected to the Nevada Assembly to represent Assembly District 9 in 2006, he was elected to the Nevada Senate in 2012 to represent Senate District 3. Early life and education Segerblom is a fourth-generation Nevada representative. His mother, Gene Segerblom, served in the Nevada Assembly from 1992 through 2000 and was a member of the Boulder City, Nevada City Council. His grandmother, Hazel Wines, served in the Nevada Assembly from 1934 to 1936, representing Humboldt County. Nevada Senate
The Nevada Senate is the upper house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of U.S. state of Nevada, the lower house being the Nevada Assembly. It currently (2012–2021) consists of 21 members from single-member districts. In the previous redistricting (2002–2011) there were 19 districts, two of which were multimember. Since 2012, there have been 21 districts, each formed by combining two neighboring state assembly districts. Each State Senator represented approximately 128,598 as of the 2010 United States Census. Article Four of the Constitution of Nevada sets that State Senators serve staggered four-year terms. In addition, the size of the Senate is set to be no less than one-third and no greater than one-half of the size of the Assembly. Term limits, limiting senators to three 4-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010.
