Valentin Bibik
Valentin Savich Bibik ( ua, Валентин Савич Бібік; russian: Валентин Саввич Бибик; 19 July 1940 – 7 July 2003) was a Ukraine, Ukrainian composer, teacher and professor. Merited Artist of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine. Biography In 1966, Valentin Bibik graduated from the Kharkiv National Kotlyarevsky University of Arts, with Dmitri Klebanov. From 1966 to 1994, he taught at the Kharkiv National Kotlyarevsky University of Arts, from 1971 he worked there as a senior lecturer, from 1990 to 1994 he was a professor and head of the department of composition and instrumentation. From 1968, Bibik was a member of the Union of Soviet Composers, and from 1989 to 1994 he was chairman of the Kharkiv organization of the Union of Composers of Ukraine. From 1994 to 1998, he was a professor, head of the Department of Musical Arts at the St. Petersburg Humanities University of Trade Unions, and professor at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Flight (play)
''Flight'', or ''On the Run'' is a play by Mikhail Bulgakov. It is set during the end of the Russian Civil War, when the remnants of the White Army are desperately resisting the Red Army on the Crimean isthmus. The lives of the abandoned Serafima Korzukhina, the university professor Sergei Golubkov and the White generals Charnota and Khludov are closely intertwined. Written in 1927, the play was rehearsed but never allowed to be performed during Bulgakov's lifetime, as the authorities felt that it glorified the Whites. It wasn't played until 1957, 17 years after Bulgakov's death. The Holodomor ( uk, Голодомо́р, Holodomor, ; derived from uk, морити голодом, lit=to kill by starvation, translit=moryty holodom, label=none), also known as the Terror-Famine or the Great Famine, was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians.
