Vale Of Atholl F.C.
Vale of Atholl Football Club is a football club from Pitlochry in Scotland. History The club was founded in 1878, originally under the name Vale of Athole, a name it used until 1889. The club was one of the inaugural clubs to take part in the Scottish Amateur Cup and as at 2022 is one of the three remaining clubs still entering the competition, although it has never reached the final. The club's main historical significance is as an entrant to the Scottish Cup from 1882 to 1884 and 1888 to 1966. The club did so without any success. The Vale reached the second round proper on only two occasions, the first time in 1883–84, after first round opponents Aberfeldy Breadalbane scratched. The Vale in turn scratched from the second round tie with Dundee Harp F.C. Easter Road
Easter Road is a football stadium located in the Leith area of Edinburgh, Scotland, which is the home ground of Scottish Premiership club Hibernian (Hibs). The stadium currently has an all-seated capacity of , which makes it the fifth-largest football stadium in Scotland. Easter Road is also known by Hibs fans as "The Holy Ground" or "The Leith San Siro". The venue has also been used to stage international matches, Scottish League Cup semi-finals and was briefly the home ground of the Edinburgh professional rugby union team. Hibs first played at the present site of Easter Road in 1893. The ground holds the record attendance for a Scottish match outside Glasgow, when 65,860 attended an Edinburgh derby on 2 January 1950. Paul Whitehead Sturrock (born 10 October 1956) is a Scottish former association football, football coach and former player. As a player, Sturrock spent his entire senior career with Dundee United, making more than five hundred appearances between 1974 and 1989. He won the Scottish Football League title with United in 1982–83 Scottish Premier Division, 1982–83 and the Scottish League Cup twice, in 1979 Scottish League Cup Final (December), 1979 and 1980 Scottish League Cup Final, 1980. Loch Faskally
Loch Faskally (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Faschoille) is a man-made reservoir in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, northwest of Pitlochry. Geography The loch lies between steeply wooded hills and is approximately in length, narrowing to around wide. The loch is retained by the Pitlochry Dam which was built by Wimpey Construction between 1947 and 1950 as part of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board's Tummel Hydro-Electric Power Scheme. The dam incorporates a salmon fish ladder, allowing around 5,400 salmon to ascend annually, and is a popular visitor attraction. The loch is popular with anglers. The water holds a good head of brown trout and the native fish are augmented by a stocking in the 1-5lb range. A 7-pounder was recorded in 2001. Salmon and a few sea trout pass through as they head up the Tummel and Garry systems. 54 salmon were caught in 2001 the best being a fish of 14 ½ lbs, however fish to 28lbs have also been caught. Pitlochry (; gd, Baile Chloichridh or ) is a town in the Perth and Kinross council area of Scotland, lying on the River Tummel.
