Vagabonds, Kings, Warriors, Angels
''Vagabonds Kings Warriors Angels'' is a 2001 4-disc set by Irish rock group Thin Lizzy, which also contains a book chronicling the life of the band and music in some detail, with rare photos and a discography. The set was packaged in a longbox format with the booklet fixed inside like a book. As well as including all of Thin Lizzy's best known songs and successful hits, this set features a number of rarer tracks, such as the band's first single, "The Farmer", the 1973 b-side "Cruising in the Lizzymobile", and the 1978 live b-side "Me and the Boys", none of which had been released on CD before. "Try a Little Harder" was a previously unreleased outtake from the ''Fighting'' recording sessions, and "Song for Jimi" had only been available on a flexi disc given away with a magazine. Other non-album b-sides were also included, such as "Half Caste", "Just the Two of Us" and "Don't Play Around". All of these tracks except "Me and the Boys" and "Song for Jimi" were later re-released ...

Thin Lizzy
Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band formed in Dublin in 1969. Their music reflects a wide range of influences, including blues, soul music, psychedelic rock and traditional Irish folk music, but is generally classified as hard rock or sometimes heavy metal. Two of the founding members, drummer Brian Downey and bass guitarist, lead vocalist and principal songwriter Phil Lynott, met while still in school. Lynott led the group throughout their recording career of twelve studio albums, writing most of the material. The singles "Whiskey in the Jar" (a traditional Irish ballad), "The Boys Are Back in Town" and "Waiting for an Alibi" were international hits. After Lynott's death in 1986, various incarnations of the band emerged over the years based initially around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes, though Sykes left the band in 2009. Gorham later continued with a new line-up including Downey. In 2012, Gorham and Downey decided against recording new material as Thin Lizzy s ...

Parisienne Walkways (song)
"Parisienne Walkways" is a song by guitarist Gary Moore that reached number 8 in the UK Singles Chart in May 1979. The song is featured on Moore's album '' Back on the Streets'' and features a vocal from Thin Lizzy frontman, Phil Lynott, who co-wrote the song with Moore. Lynott also played bass guitar on the track, alongside Thin Lizzy drummer Brian Downey, thus reuniting the short-lived 1974 Thin Lizzy line-up which had recorded " Still in Love with You", "Sitamoia" and the single "Little Darling". The melody of "Parisienne Walkways" is based on the jazz standard "Blue Bossa" by Kenny Dorham. It became Gary Moore's signature song. According to Richard Buskin, the opening line, "I remember Paris in '49", was an amendment of the line as it appeared in the original sheet music — "I remember Paris in the fall tonight" — and refers to Phil's missing father, Cecil Paris, and his birth-year, 1949. A lament for the father he never had, dressed up in romantic nostalgia. The guitari ...

Cowboy Song (Thin Lizzy Song)
"Cowboy Song" is a song by hard rock band Thin Lizzy that originally appeared on their 1976 album '' Jailbreak''. Released as a single in an edited version, it reached No. 77 on the US charts, but at the time did not gain as much attention as two of their most popular songs on the same album, "The Boys Are Back in Town" and " Jailbreak". The song was written by frontman Phil Lynott and drummer Brian Downey. Written from the perspective of a cowboy, the lyrics tell of his wandering across the United States through various adventures and romances. The song begins with a mellow acoustic, country music-style introduction before a transition to up-tempo hard rock. "Cowboy Song" has since been described as one of Thin Lizzy's great songs because it has "one of the catchiest, most memorable twin-guitar harmony leads ever". AllMusic described the song as turning the commonplace into legend, or bringing myth into the modern world. The author of ''Phil Lynott: The Rocker'', Mark Putte ...

Jailbreak (Thin Lizzy Song)
"Jailbreak" is a song by Thin Lizzy that originally appeared as the title track on their 1976 album '' Jailbreak''. Along with "The Boys Are Back in Town", it is one of their most popular songs, played frequently on classic rock radio. The song is typical of the band's music, with the dual lead guitar harmony and Brian Robertson's use of the wah-wah pedal. Phil Lynott's lyrics about a prison break are the typical personification of the "tough guys", also seen in "The Boys Are Back in Town" and the regular concert closer and fan favourite " The Rocker". An alternate version of the song appeared on the bonus disc of the 2011 remastered deluxe edition of the ''Jailbreak'' album, featuring a short spoken introduction and additional guitar parts throughout. Charts Use in media In December 2008, the song was named the 73rd best hard rock song of all time by VH1. Scott Gorham
William Scott Gorham (born March 17, 1951) is an American guitarist and songwriter who is one of the "twin lead guitarists" for the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. Although not a founding member of Thin Lizzy, he served a continuous membership after passing an audition in 1974, joining the band at a time when the band's future was in doubt after the departures of original guitarist Eric Bell and his brief replacement Gary Moore. Gorham remained with Thin Lizzy until the band's breakup in 1983. He and guitarist Brian Robertson, both hired at the same time, marked the beginning of the band's most critically successful period, and together developed Thin Lizzy's twin lead guitar style while contributing dual backing vocals as well. The Rocker (song)
"The Rocker" is a song by Irish rock group Thin Lizzy, included on their 1973 album ''Vagabonds of the Western World''. It was also released as a single in a 2:41 edited format, the original album track stretching to 5:17, most of the extra length being taken up by an extended guitar solo by Eric Bell. There is an accompanying performance on Dutch TV programme ''TopPop'' to the song which features Gary Moore recorded in 1974 during his first of two spells with the band. The B-side of the single in most territories was the album track "Here I Go Again", but in Germany the non-album track, "A Ride in the Lizzy Mobile", was used. This track later appeared on the four-CD box set '' Vagabonds, Kings, Warriors, Angels'' as "Cruising in the Lizzy Mobile". The single failed to chart in the UK, but reached No. 11 in Ireland and spent four weeks in the chart. However, it became a live favourite and was one of the few songs from Eric Bell's time with the band to survive his departure and bec ...
