Vadeni (horse)
Vadeni (foaled 26 March 2019) is a French Thoroughbred racehorse. He showed promise as a juvenile in 2021 when he won two of his three races, including the Listed Criterium du Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage. In the following spring he won the Prix de Guiche and then ran out a five-length winner of the Group One French Derby. In July, the horse won the Eclipse Stakes before being placed in the Irish Champion Stakes and finishing a close second in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Background Vadeni is a bay colt with a white star and two white socks bred in France by his owner Aga Khan IV. Churchill (foaled 31 January 2014) is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse. He was rated the best two-year-old colt in Europe in 2016, winning five of his six races including the Chesham Stakes, Tyros Stakes, Futurity Stakes, National Stakes and Dewhurst Stakes. On his three-year-old debut he won the 2000 Guineas and followed up with a second Classic victory in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. Vazira (foaled 19 March 2011) is a British-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare whose brief racing career consisted of six starts between 31 March and 4 October 2014. After winning a minor event on her debut she took the Prix Vanteaux and was then awarded the Prix Saint-Alary on the disqualification of We Are. She failed to win in three subsequent starts and was retired from racing at the end of the year. Background Vazira is a bay mare with no white markings bred in France by her owner, Aga Khan IV. Valyra (3 May 2009 – 29 August 2012) was a British– bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse owned by HH Aga Khan IV and trained by Jean-Claude Rouget. She won the 2012 Prix de Diane, but died in an accident later in the year. Breeding Valyra was the daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Azamour. Her dam, Valima, won the Listed Prix Imprudence and is a daughter of Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Linamix. Valixir (foaled 30 March 2001) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He was trained for most of his career in France where he won two minor races and finished second in the Prix des Chênes as a juvenile in 2003. When campaigned over middle distances in 2004 he won the Prix Matchem, Prix Eugène Adam and Prix Niel as well as being placed in both the Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix Lupin. He was even better when brought back to shorter distances in the following year and recorded Group One victories in the Prix d'Ispahan and the Queen Anne Stakes. Tyros Stakes
The Tyros Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in Ireland open to two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run at Leopardstown over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in July. The event used to be held at the Curragh in mid August. For a period it was classed at Listed level. It was switched to late July in 2000, and it was transferred to Leopardstown in 2003. It was promoted to Group 3 status in 2007.
