Lesatele Rapi Vaai
Lesatele Rapi Vaai is a Samoan judge and President of the Land and Titles Court of Samoa. He served on the Supreme Court of Samoa until 2017, and again from 2020. Vaai is a former president of the Samoa law Society. He was appointed to the District Court of Samoa in 1996. He later served as President of the Land and Titles Court of Samoa. He was later appointed to the Supreme Court of Samoa. He retired from the Court in February 2017 to take up a judicial position in Nauru. Following his retirement he was appointed to chair a Commission of Inquiry into the actions of three police officers accused of misconduct and evidence tampering. In November 2020 he was reappointed to the Supreme Court as a temporary judge for a term of one year to help deal with election-related cases. Olo Fiti Afoa Vaai (formally known as Levaopolo Talatonu Vaai) is a Samoan politician and Cabinet Minister who has served as the minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure since 2021. Personal life Vaai was educated at Avele and Samoa College before studying for a Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Auckland University of Technology. He subsequently worked for the Samoa Airports Authority as a technical manager and then assistant chief executive. He is from a political family, and his uncle Leilua Manuao served as a Member of parliament for 40 years. Vaepule Alo Vaemoa Vaai
Vaepule Alo Vaemoa Vaai (~1953 — 25 September 2020) was a Samoan lawyer and judge. He served on the Supreme Court of Samoa from 2016 until 2019. He was the son of former Prime Minister Vaʻai Kolone. Vaepule is from the village of Vaisala in Savai'i. He was educated at Vaisala Primary School, Leififi Intermediate, Samoa College, and then Wellington College in New Zealand. He studied law at Victoria University of Wellington, graduating in 1982 with an LLB. He returned to Samoa and practiced as a barrister and solicitor for 12 years before working for the National Provident Fund. From 2001 to 2004 he served as Public Trustee. Lautimuia Uelese Vaʻai
Lautimuia Afoa Uelese Vaʻai (born ) is a Samoan politician and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Samoa. He is a member of the FAST Party. He is a nephew of former Prime Minister Vaʻai Kolone. Lautimuia is from the villages of Magiagi and Vaisala and trained as an accountant at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji and Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. He worked as a lecturer at the National University of Samoa and as a senior civil servant before being appointed chief executive of the Samoa Shipping Corporation in November 2017. He contested the 2016 Samoan general election in the Vaimauga West 1 Constituency as a candidate for the Human Rights Protection Party. Vaai Kolone (11 November 1911 – 20 April 2001) was the fourth prime minister of Samoa and a founder of the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) in Samoa. Vaʻai Papu Vailupe (25 March 1944 – 17 January 2022), also known as Mafasolia Papu Vailupe, was a Samoan politician and accountant who served as a Cabinet Minister. He was the leader of the Tautua Samoa Party from 2010 to 2011. His father is former Prime Minister Vaʻai Kolone, who co-founded the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP). His younger brother Asiata Sale'imoa Va'ai was leader of the Samoan Democratic United Party. Political career Vaʻai was first elected to the Samoan Legislative Assembly at the 1991 election. In 1996 he served as Parliamentary Undersecretary for Works, EPC, and the Water Authority. After being re-elected in 1996, he was appointed to Cabinet as Minister of Justice. Between 1998 and 2001, he served as Minister of Agriculture. He lost his seat in the 2001 election. He ran as an independent in his father's old seat of Vaisigano No. 1 in the 2006 election.
