VV Scherpenzeel
Voetbalvereniging Scherpenzeel is an association football club from Scherpenzeel, Netherlands. Its ground is Sportpark De Bree-Oost. History VV Scherpenzeel was founded on 17 April 1918. The club initially played on Sundays. The Sunday team won section championships in the Zevende Klasse in 1997 and Vierde Klasse in 1984. In the 1980s a Saturday team was added, so much more successful than its Sunday counterpart that eventually Sunday football was dropped. The Saturday team won section championships in the Vierde Klasse in 1982 and 2014, Derde Klasse in 1984, and Tweede Klasse in 1985 and 2018. The Vierde Divisie, formerly known as Hoofdklasse () is the second-highest league of amateur football in the Netherlands, and the fifth tier in general. Background The league is divided into two sections: Saturday and Sunday. This is a result of the traditional pillarisation ( nl, verzuiling), the segregation of Dutch society. The ''Saturday'' clubs are mainly Protestant Christian clubs, who were not allowed to play on Sunday. The ''Sunday'' clubs were in general Catholic and working class clubs, whose players had to work on Saturday and therefore could only play on Sunday. Although the pillarisation ended in the 1960s and 1970s, the clubs and the league have maintained this division. Eerste Klasse
The Eerste Klasse ( en, First Class) started as the 1st tier of football in the Netherlands and is now the 6th tier. The league is divided into eleven divisions, six for Saturday clubs and five for Sunday clubs. These divisions correspond to the six districts of the Royal Dutch Football Association: each district organises a Saturday competition and a Sunday competition, except for South II, which only has a Sunday competition. Each division consists of 14 teams. The champion of the Eerste Klasse divisions are promoted to the Vierde Divisie (formerly Hoofdklasse). Furthermore, a season is divided into two periods ( nl, periodes) of eight matches each. Erik Willaarts
Erik Willaarts (born 25 August 1961 in Woudenberg) is a Dutch retired footballer. Career Willaarts shot to fame when he scored a remarkable 25 goals for FC Utrecht in the 1986-87 Eredivisie season, after only having joined them from a sixth-tier amateur side at the start of that season. He finished runner-up to the great Marco van Basten in that season's top goalscorers list which earned him a move to German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach. The ''Barneveldse Krant'' is a local daily newspaper in the Netherlands. It is printed, published, and distributed by Royal BDU in Barneveld. The newspaper is printed 6 times per week, with a focus on advertisements on Thursday and special weekend pages on Saturday. The Thursday edition is free of charge. DHSC is a football club in the Ondiep district of Utrecht, Netherlands. The club plays in the 2022-23 Vierde Divisie. History VV DOS (1901–2004) Voetbalvereniging Door Oefening Sterk, in short VV DOS, was established in 1901. The club won the national championship in 1958. The virus reached the Netherlands on 27 February 2020, when its first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Tilburg. Scherpenzeel () is a municipality and a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. As of , it has a population of , with approximately 6,000 adults. The community of Scherpenzeel also contains a part of the hamlet of Moorst.
