VV Noordscheschut
VV Noordscheschut is a Dutch association football club from Noordscheschut, Netherlands. Its home ground is Sportpark De Meulewieke. Club colors are blue-white. Its first squad plays since 2020 in the Hoofdklasse Saturday. History 20th century: Foundation through Tweede Klasse VV Noordscheschut was founded on 10 September 1945. In 1977, while playing in the Vierde Klasse, Noordscheschut caused an upset in the Saturday Football Cup when it beat Oranje Nassau Almelo that played 3 tiers higher, 3–2. It won section championships in the Vierde Klasse in 1969, 1981, and 1994. Noordscheschut won section championships in the Derde Klasse in 1982 and 1996. The championship of 1982 was exceptional as the section's runner-up, CVSC from Coevorden, had made a bogus report to Noorderschut that it had just lost its last game 0–1 against league closers De Fivel (while it really won 4–0), creating the false impression that Noordscheschut was already section champion. COVID-19 Pandemic In The Netherlands
The COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus reached the Netherlands on 27 February 2020, when its first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Tilburg. It involved a 56-year-old Dutchman who had arrived in the Netherlands from Italy, where the COVID-19 pandemic seemed to enter Europe. As of 31 January 2021, there are 978,475 confirmed cases of infections and 13,998 confirmed deaths. The first death occurred on 6 March, when an 86-year-old patient died in Rotterdam. On the advice of the Outbreak Management Team (OMT), under supervision of Jaap van Dissel, measures were taken by the Third Rutte cabinet for the public health to prevent the spread of this viral disease, including the "intelligent lockdown". The government strategy on pandemic control has been criticised for the refusal to acknowledge the role of asymptomatic spread and the role of masks in preventing spread, as well as for the lack of testing capacity, in p ...

After Ferwerda's death, his son-in-law, Doeke Ritske Smeding, took over and led the paper though the French occupation, during which many Dutch papers were shut down by the occupier. Smeding died in 1814; Pieter Koumans Smeding, his cousin, ran the paper until 1854. His heirs owned the newspaper until 1947. On 1 ...

RTV Drenthe
The Dutch public broadcasting system ( nl, Nederlands publieke omroepbestel) is a group of organizations that are responsible for public service television and radio broadcasting in the Netherlands. It is composed of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) foundation, which acts as its governing body, and a number of public broadcasters. The Dutch ''Media Act 2008'' regulates how air time is divided and puts the administration of the public broadcasting system in the hands of the NPO Board of Directors. In addition to the national broadcasters, there are also regional and local broadcasters in the Netherlands. Unlike most other countries' public broadcasting organizations – which are either national corporations (such as the BBC and France Télévisions / Radio France), federations of regional public-law bodies (for example, ARD, SRG SSR) or governmental and member-based institutions with their own channels and facilities (such as PBS) – those in the Netherlands are member-based ...

Sustainability
Specific definitions of sustainability are difficult to agree on and have varied in the literature and over time. The concept of sustainability can be used to guide decisions at the global, national, and individual levels (e.g. sustainable living). Sustainability is commonly described as having three dimensions (also called pillars): environmental, economic, and social. Many publications state that the environmental dimension (also called "planetary integrity" or "ecological integrity") is the most important, and, in everyday usage, "sustainability" is often focused on countering major environmental problems, such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, loss of ecosystem services, land degradation, and air and water pollution. Humanity is now exceeding several "planetary boundaries". A closely related concept is that of sustainable development, and the terms are often used synonymously. However, UNESCO distinguishes the two thus: "''Sustainability'' is often thought of as a lon ...

Coevorden (; nds-nl, Koevern) is a city and municipality in the province of Drenthe, Netherlands. The following year it was besieged by a Spanish force but the city held out until its relief in May 1594. Coevorden was then reconstructed in the early seventeenth century to an ''ideal city'' design, similar to Palmanova. The streets were laid out in a radial pattern within polygonal fortifications and extensive outer earthworks. The city of Coevorden indir ...
