VV Eemdijk
Voetbalvereniging Eemdijk is a football club based in Bunschoten-Spakenburg, Utrecht, Netherlands. They are currently members of the Derde Divisie, the fourth tier of the Dutch football league system, after reaching promotion from the 2022–23 Vierde Divisie. They play their home matches at De Vinken. History VV Eemdijk played from 2015 through 2018 in the Saturday Hoofdklasse. In 2018, Eemdijk were promoted to the Derde Klasse. Eemdijk held only one season after in the Derde which it relegated back to the Hoofdklasse through the playoffs. In the 2021–22 season, Eemdijk qualified for the promotion playoffs, where they played VVOG in the first round. After a 2–2 draw in the first leg, Eemdijk led 2–0 (4–2 on aggregate) with less than 20 minutes left, but conceded 3 goals in the span of 18 minutes, including an 89th-minute equalizer and a 92nd-minute winner. Bunschoten
Bunschoten () is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht (province), Utrecht. It lies about 7 km north of Amersfoort. Its territory comprises the original municipality of Bunschoten (created in 1204 by the bishop of Utrecht) and the former municipality of Duyst, De Haar and Zevenhuizen, which was a part of Hoogland from 1854 until 1971. Derde Divisie
The Derde Divisie (; en, Third Division), formerly known as Topklasse (; en, Top Class), is the fourth tier of football in the Netherlands, which had its inaugural season as a third tier in 2010–11 and as a fourth tier in 2016–17. The league is placed between the Tweede Divisie and the Vierde Divisie (formerly Hoofdklasse), the third and fifth tiers of Dutch football, respectively. 2022–23 Vierde Divisie
The 2022–23 Vierde Divisie is a Netherland, Dutch football league season played in four sections, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. The champions of each Vierde Divisie section will be directly promoted to the Derde Divisie; other teams can get promoted through play-offs. Play-offs Promotion In each competition teams play periods of 10 games, three times per season (30 games per season). After each period the best team which has not yet qualified earns a spot in the play-offs for the Derde Divisie as the period champion. 6 teams from the Saturday Vierde Divisie play against 2 teams from the Saturday Derde Divisie for 2 promotion spots. Dutch Football League System
The Dutch football league system consists of two fully professional leagues (Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie) and eight levels of amateur football leagues, the highest of which is called Tweede Divisie, formerly Topklasse. All the leagues are connected by a promotion and relegation system, but in order to be promoted to the Eerste Divisie a club has to submit a solid business plan to be approved by the Royal Dutch Football Association, as well as meet certain stadium demands, and some other demands that the association stated for all the teams in the top two leagues. That way it was possible that the IJsselmeervogels won the 2010–11 Topklasse, but was not promoted, because they did not want to be bound to these demands. FC Oss was promoted instead. The ('Third Class') is the eighth tier of football in the Netherlands and the sixth tier of Dutch amateur football. The league is divided into 44 divisions, 20 played on Saturday and 24 on Sunday. 2021–22 Hoofdklasse
The 2021–22 season of the Hoofdklasse will be played in four leagues, two for Saturday and two for Sunday. The champions of each league will be promoted directly to the Derde Divisie; other teams can get promoted through play-offs. The 2021–22 Hoofdklasse will start on Saturday 28 August 2021. Effects of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic During the 2019-20 season, on 31 March 2020, the KNVB decided to cancel all competitions at amateur level. They also decided, for those competitions involved, there would be no final standings, and therefore no champions, initially no promotions and no relegations.
