VV DUNO
Voetbalvereniging Door Uithouding Naar Overwinning, known as VV DUNO for short, is an association football club in Doorwerth, Netherlands. It plays at Sportpark De Waayenberg. Anoush Dastgir is current head coach of the club. History VV Duno was founded on 19 August 1948. From 1974 until 2013 its first squad was usually a Vierde Klasse team. It did play five of these seasons in the Derde Klasse, but there were also two years that it was absent from the KNVB leagues. 2010s: Fast ascend In 2012–13 the club's fast ascend started. That year it won the section of the Vierde Klasse, promoting it to the Derde Klasse. At the end of the next season (2014) it promoted to the Tweede Klasse, after winning another section championship. Two years later (2016) Duno promoted to the Eerste Klasse, again as champions of its previous league. Doorwerth
Doorwerth is a village in the eastern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Renkum, Gelderland, about 8 km west of Arnhem and about 100 km southeast of Amsterdam. History The valley of the Seelbeek has been in residential use since prehistoric times. The recorded history of Doorwerth started in the early middle ages when a small castle was built in the Seelbeek valley and later the current Doorwerth Castle was founded. The old village grew around the castle near the banks of the river Rhine. Most of the houses of the old village near the castle were damaged during World War II, all of them where abandoned and demolished after the war. The current cores of the village were developed from 1923 onwards, when the Van der Molenallee was constructed. Doorwerth was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1923. Anoush Dastgir (born 27 November 1989) is an Afghan football manager and retired player, who is the current head coach of both the Afghanistan national team and VV DUNO in Hoofdklasse. The Vierde Klasse ( en, Fourth Class) is the ninth tier of football in the Netherlands and the seventh tier of Dutch amateur football. This is the lowest league in the West II region. The Eerste Klasse ( en, First Class) started as the 1st tier of football in the Netherlands and is now the 6th tier. The league is divided into eleven divisions, six for Saturday clubs and five for Sunday clubs. These divisions correspond to the six districts of the Royal Dutch Football Association: each district organises a Saturday competition and a Sunday competition, except for South II, which only has a Sunday competition. The Vierde Divisie, formerly known as Hoofdklasse () is the second-highest league of amateur football in the Netherlands, and the fifth tier in general. Background The league is divided into two sections: Saturday and Sunday. This is a result of the traditional pillarisation ( nl, verzuiling), the segregation of Dutch society. The ''Saturday'' clubs are mainly Protestant Christian clubs, who were not allowed to play on Sunday. The ''Sunday'' clubs were in general Catholic and working class clubs, whose players had to work on Saturday and therefore could only play on Sunday.
