VH1 Denmark
VH1 is a music channel in Denmark operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA. The channel launched at 22:00 on 15 March 2008, replacing VH1 Europe. Background Before the launch of VH1 Denmark, VH1 was first made available in Denmark through VH1 UK followed by VH1 Export and later VH1 Europe. Availability Initially, upon launch, the channel had limited availability. However, YouSee, offered VH1 Denmark as a replacement to the timeshare between the channel's Pan-European equivalent VH1 Europe and the erotic channel Private Blue. The smaller cable network Stofa and Telia also offered the channel upon launch. Both satellite distributors, Canal Digital and Viasat, did not broadcast the Danish channel, continuing their relays of VH1 Europe instead. VH1 (European TV Channel)
VH1 (referred as VH1 Europe) was a European music television channel owned by ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. It played a wide variety of music programs on a daily or weekly basis, and various VH1 original series. The channel focused on current music, as well as music from the 2000s and the 2010s. In the 2000s, the channel used to focus on then current music – with a heavier focus on so-called adult contemporary pop and pop rock than today, – as well as music from the 1980s and the 1990s. From 2020 until the closure, the channel also played some Hip Hop hits, from artists like Roddy Ricch and DaBaby. On 2 August 2021, the channel was replaced by MTV 00s. On 1 August - the 40th anniversary of MTV - the channel's programming was adapted to MTV 00s, where as the next day the logo and graphics were updated to MTV 00s. Viasat (Nordic Television Service)
Viasat was a satellite and pay television brand, co-owned by the Swedish media group Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) in the Nordic countries, Antenna Group in Hungary, and by Viasat World internationally. Founded in Sweden in 1991, Viasat has previously been owned by Modern Times Group. The channels of both companies were broadcast from London. In 2020 Viasat formed a joint venture with Canal Digital to form the company Allente. The merger was completed on April 13, 2021. Satellite platforms The Viasat signals can be received from the Astra 4A and SES-5 satellites at 4.8°E with any DVB-S receiver equipped with a NDS VideoGuard descrambling module. Boxer TV A/S
Boxer TV A/S is a company that is broadcasting pay television channels on the digital terrestrial television network in Denmark since February 1, 2009. It is a subsidiary of Boxer TV Access, a Swedish company which is owned by Com Hem. History Boxer won the right to build four multiplex networks to broadcast digital television in 2008. They were competing against ''Danmarks Digital TV A/S'' (owned by Telenor) and ''Danmarks TV A/S'' (owned by Modern Times Group, MTG). The procurement was organized by the government agency ''Mediesekretariatet'' and in March 2008 chose Swedish Boxer as the gatekeeper out of the three applicants. As Telenor and MTG both owned satellite platforms in Denmark, and Boxer did not have any operations in Denmark, Boxer won the contract. Nickelodeon is a Danish television channel targeting children. It replaces Nickelodeon Scandinavia, which was offered in Denmark between 1996 and 2007. History The channel was launched on 15 March 2008 with the launch of VH1 Denmark, where it was broadcast between 6:00 am and 12:00 pm. From 1996 to 2008, Denmark had been served by the pan-Nordic Nickelodeon Scandinavia. The Pan-Nordic channel continues to be available on satellite. VH1 stopped simulcasting Nickelodeon around New Year's Eve 2008/2009, which meant that the two channels had their own frequencies in analogue cable networks such as YouSee and Telia Stofa, where Nickelodeon would now be available between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Canal Digital was a Nordic pay TV and internet service provider in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland that was founded in March 1997 as a joint venture between the French pay TV company Canal+ and the Norwegian telecommunications operator Telenor.
