VH1 Classic (European TV Channel)
VH1 Classic Europe was a European music television channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. The channel primarily featured music videos from the 1970s through to the 2000s (decade), although rare live performances from the 1950s and 1960s could be seen as well. History VH1 Classic was first launched in the United Kingdom on 1 July 1999 and made available from the beginning to the whole of Europe. However, the pan-European service was launched on 30 November 2004, when it became a separate feed from VH1 Classic UK. Like VH1 European, it broadcast from MTV Networks Europe's premises in Camden Town (London, UK). It was officially available to viewers all over Europe (except the UK & Ireland and Italy). Unlike VH1 Classic UK, the pan-European version of the channel was entirely devoid of advertisements, with round-the-clock music videos played out from MTV Networks Europe's comprehensive library in London. Attempts to transition VH1 Classic to widescreen Like the now-defunct Ital ...

All Night Long (All Night)
"All Night Long (All Night)" is a hit single by American singer and songwriter Lionel Richie from 1983. Taken from his second solo album, ''Can't Slow Down'' (1983), it combined Richie's soulful Commodores style with Caribbean influences. This single reached number one on three ''Billboard'' charts (pop, R&B and adult contemporary). In the UK, it peaked at number two on the singles chart. The song lyrics were written primarily in English, but Richie has admitted in at least one press interview that "African" lyrics in the song, such as "Tom bo li de say de moi ya" and "Jambo jumbo", were in fact his sui generis dialects. Richie has described these portions of the song as a "wonderful joke", written when he discovered that he lacked the time to hire a translator to contribute the foreign-language lyrics he wished to include in the song. '' Cash Box'' summed up its review of the single saying "Richie’s command of these diverse musical elements and shifts in melodic directio ...

The music video features Michael and Ridgeley wearing oversized message T-shirts ("CHOOSE LIFE") created by Katharine Hamnett, starting a craze covered in the 2002 VH1 series '' I Love the 80s''. The song was ranked number 28 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the '80s. History Michael's inspiration for the song was a scribbled note that his bandmate Andrew Ridgeley had left for his parents, intended to read "wake me up before you go" but with "up" accidentally written twice, so Ridgeley wrote "go" twice on purpose. In 1984, George Michael had this to say on the development of the song: It was recorded within two days at Sarm West Studio 2 in London, with ...

Within the U.S. it received extensive airplay on progressive or album-oriented rock radio stations. The single was also Springsteen’s first top 40 hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at #23. The song ranked number 21 on the ''Rolling Stone'' list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, the highest entry for a song by Springsteen, and is included in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
