VH1's Storytellers
''Storytellers'' is a television music series produced by the VH1 network. In each episode, artists perform in front of a (mostly small and intimate) live audience, and tell stories about their music, writing experiences and memories, somewhat similar to ''MTV Unplugged''. The show started in 1996 with a broadcast of Ray Davies, during his "Storyteller" tour, and took its name from this first show. As of February 2016, 98 episodes have aired, and many of the performances have subsequently been released on CD or DVD. "Best of" collections have also been released. Performers VH1 Storytellers Meat Loaf enjoyed the show so much that he bought the stage decorations from VH-1 and went on to do a "Storytellers" tour in 1998/1999. MTV Unplugged
''MTV Unplugged'' is an American television series on MTV showcasing musical artists usually playing acoustic instruments. The show aired regularly from 1989 to 1999 and less frequently from 2000 to 2009, when it was usually billed as ''MTV Unplugged No. 2.0''. Since 2009, ''MTV Unplugged'' specials have aired occasionally, sometimes online only. Episodes and specials have tended to showcase one artist or group, playing a combination of their hit songs and covers. Many of the artists who appeared on the show in the 1990s released their ''Unplugged'' session as an album, and some of these albums were commercial and critical hits. Eric Clapton's ''Unplugged (Eric Clapton album), Unplugged'' (1992) sold 26 million copies worldwide and became the best-selling live album of all time. Counting Crows
Counting Crows is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. Formed in 1991, the band consists of guitarist David Bryson, drummer Jim Bogios, vocalist Adam Duritz, keyboardist Charlie Gillingham, David Immerglück, bass guitarist Millard Powers, and guitarist Dan Vickrey. Past members include the drummers Steve Bowman (1991–1994) and Ben Mize (1994–2002), and bass guitarist Matt Malley (1991–2005). Hanson (band)
Hanson is an American Pop music, pop band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, vocals, bass, piano), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Zac Hanson (drums, vocals, piano). Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins (guitar) and Andrew Perusi (bass), who have toured and performed live with the band since 2007. Sir Richard Starkey (born 7 July 1940), known professionally as Ringo Starr, is an English musician, singer, songwriter and actor who achieved international fame as the drummer for the Beatles. Unlike his previous live recordings, this release places Starr in an intimate environment where, as per the show's requirement, he tells the genesis of the songs being performed. Culture Club are an English pop band formed in London in 1981.
