Since 2018, the party has been a part of the incumbent regional government coalition together with the Social Democrats and the Centre Party. Following the 2022 election, in which the party lost five seats, it is in talks with the right-wing Moderate, Centre and Christian Democratic parties regarding plans to form a minority coalition in the region. 2022 Swedish General Election

Nyköping () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Nyköping Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden with 32,759 inhabitants as of 2017. The city is also the capital of Södermanland County. Including Arnö, the locality on the southern shore of the bay just a couple of kilometres from the city centre, Nyköping would have above 36,000 inhabitants.
