''Vår jul'' ( en, "Our Christmas") is the second joint album by Swedish artists Sanna Nielsen, Shirley Clamp & Sonja Aldén released in Sweden in 2010, physically through Lionheart International and digitally through Universal Music. Although the album didn't match the success of its predecessor, the album was still a commercial success peaking at number six on the Swedish Albums Chart and was certified gold in the country. Background Following the success of their 2008 collaborative album, '' Our Christmas'', Shirley Clamp, Sanna Nielsen, and Sonya Aldén recorded and released a second Christmas album. The major difference with this one, is that the majority of the songs are performed in Swedish. They also co-wrote a number of the songs on the album. Sanna Nielsen
Sanna Viktoria Nielsen (born 27 November 1984) is a Swedish singer and television presenter. On her seventh attempt, she won Melodifestivalen in 2014 with the song " Undo" and so represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, finishing in 3rd place overall. Sanna was one of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 commentators for Sweden and hosted Melodifestivalen 2015 along with comedian Robin Paulsson. She was announced as the new presenter for the sing-along show ''Allsång på Skansen'' for the summer of 2016. She hosted ''Eurovision The Party'' at the Tele2 Arena for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Career Nielsen was born and grew up in the town of Edenryd in Bromölla Municipality, Skåne. Her paternal grandfather was a Dane from Århus. Nielsen's career started at several talent searches, the first being in 1992 in Olofström. "Pie Jesu" ( ; original Latin: "Pie Iesu" ) is a text from the final couplet of the hymn " Dies irae", and is often included in musical settings of the Requiem Mass as a motet. The phrase means " pious Jesus" in the vocative. Popular settings The settings of the Requiem Mass by Luigi Cherubini, Antonin Dvořák, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Duruflé, John Rutter, Karl Jenkins, Kim André Arnesen and Fredrik Sixten include a "Pie Jesu" as an independent movement. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list. John Francis Wade
John Francis Wade (1 January 1711 – 16 August 1786) was an English hymnist who is sometimes credited with writing and composing the hymn " Adeste Fideles" (which was translated to "O Come All Ye Faithful" in 1841 by Frederick Oakeley), even though the actual authorship of the hymn remains uncertain. The earliest copies of the hymn all bear his signature. Wade fled to France after the Jacobite rising of 1745 was crushed. As a Catholic layman, he lived with exiled English Catholics in France, where he taught music and worked on church music for private use. Jacobite symbolism Bennett Zon, Head of the Department of Music at Durham University, has noted that Wade's Roman Catholic liturgical books were often decorated with Jacobite floral imagery. Edvard Evers
Edvard Evers (12 May 1853 – 22 October 1919) was a Swedish Lutheran priest and hymnwriter. Edvard Evers is mostly famous for writing the lyrics of the Christmas carole ''Jul, jul, strålande jul''. The song was composed by Gustaf Nordqvist and was first published in 1921. Edvard Evers was born at Uddevalla in Västra Götaland, Sweden. He was the son of Per Emil Evers and Mathilda (Nordström) Evers. Evers studied at Lund University and graduated in theology in 1878. He was ordained a parish priest in the Diocese of Strängnäs during 1879. Evers subsequently served as a priest in Stockholm where he became curate of Adolf Fredrik Church (''Adolf Fredriks kyrka'') in 1884. Edvard Evers was appointed vicar at Norrköping in Östergötland during 1892.
