Värsta Språket
''Värsta språket'' (Swedish: "The Worst Language" (figuratively "The coolest language")) was a Swedish television series about the Swedish language. The series, which was hosted by Fredrik Lindström and produced by Karin af Klintberg, was broadcast on SVT between October 2002 and April 2003. The series discussed issues with the Swedish language in an entertaining way. After two seasons, Fredrik Lindström claimed that the attention from the programme was a burden to him and that he would no longer host it anymore. The show was therefore put on hiatus. Lindström did however return with another language-related series called ''Svenska dialektmysterier'' in 2006. Lindström and af Klintberg were given Stora journalistpriset for the programme. Fredrik Lindström (writer)
Fredrik Lindström (born 27 June 1963 in Eskilstuna, Södermanland County) is a Sweden, Swedish comedian, film director and Television presenter, presenter. He played drums for the heavy metal band ''CRYSTAL PRIDE'' in the early 1980s. In the 2000s, Lindström became a household name in Sweden through his documentary series ''Värsta språket'' about the Swedish language at Sveriges Television. Lindström has written several books that served as a basis for the series as well as historic linguistics in the Swedish language. They have the same kind of approach, mixing informality with information derived from the author's linguistics background. Sveriges Television AB ("Sweden's Television Stock Company"), shortened to SVT (), is the Sweden, Swedish national public broadcasting, public television broadcaster, funded by a public service tax on personal income set by the Riksdag (national parliament). SVT2
SVT2 (SVT Två; commonly referred to as Tvåan), is one of the two main television channels broadcast by Sveriges Television in Sweden. Launched in 1969 by Sveriges Radio, the channel was until the 1990s the most watched in Sweden for many years, but now serves as SVT's specialist television network, carrying more highbrow and minority programming compared to the more mainstream SVT1. Swedish Language
Swedish ( ) is a North Germanic language spoken predominantly in Sweden and in parts of Finland. It has at least 10 million native speakers, the fourth most spoken Germanic language and the first among any other of its type in the Nordic countries overall. Swedish, like the other Nordic languages, is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. Stora Journalistpriset ("The Swedish Grand Prize for Journalism") is an annual Swedish award, founded in 1966 by Bonnier AB, given to "recognize achievement in journalism". ''Typisk norsk'' (''Typical Norwegian'') is a news and magazine program about language and communication produced by Dropout Productions (seasons 1 and 2) and Rubicon TV (season 3) for NRK. Three seasons of the program were produced (2004, 2005, and 2006).
