Volvo Masters Of Asia
The Volvo Masters of Asia was the final event of the season on golf's Asian Tour until 2008. It was first played in 2002 and the field was originally restricted to the top 60 players on the Asian Tour's Order of Merit, increasing to 65 in the final year. In 2006 the prize fund went up to US$650,000 and in 2007 and 2008 to US$750,000. Even though it is not close to being the richest tournament on the Asian Tour, the Volvo Masters of Asia was the tour's designated "Premier Event" for Official World Golf Ranking purposes, with a minimum winner's point allocation set at 20, regardless of the strength of the field. The winner also received a Waterford crystal vase. Simon Yates (golfer)
Simon Yates (born 16 March 1970) is a Scottish golfer. Turning professional in 1989, Yates relocated to Thailand after holidaying in Asia and deciding to base himself in the region. He has played on the Asian Tour since its first official season in 1995. He placed third on the Asian Tour Order of Merit in both 1999 and 2004 and was one of the first ten players to reach career earnings of a million U.S. dollars on the tour. Anthony Kang (born November 30, 1972) is a Korean-American professional golfer. Early life Kang was born in South Korea, moving to live in the United States at the age of 10, where he attended Oregon State University. Professional career Kang turned professional in 1996. He has been a member of the Asian Tour since 1998 where he has won over a million United States dollar, US dollars in prize money. Kang has had three victories on the Asian Tour, the most recent coming at the 2009 Maybank Malaysian Open, eight years after the previous one. Kevin Sangwook Na ( ko, 나상욱; born September 15, 1983) is a Korean American professional golfer. He was a member of the PGA Tour until June 2022, when he resigned in order to join LIV Golf. He won five tournaments on the PGA Tour between 2011 and 2021.
