NORCECA
The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) is the international governing body for the sports of volleyball in Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. NORCECA is the continental confederation that represents its 35 member associations at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) level. It also has six associate members: Bonaire, Saba, Saint Martin, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. The confederation is responsible for, among other things, the staging of Olympic and World Championship zone qualification tournaments, as well as continental championships for both men and women in indoor volleyball and beach volleyball. Yoana Palacios
Yoana Palacio Mahmudova born 6 October 1990) is a Cuban-born Azerbaijani female volleyball player. She was part of the Cuba women's national volleyball team at the 2010 FIVB World Championship in Japan. She won the silver medal in the 2011 Pan American Games being selected Best Spiker and Most Valuable Player and twice won the bronze medal in the NORCECA Continental Championship, in 2009 and 2011. She won three time the Cuban National League with the team from Ciudad Havana, Capitalinas from 2009 to 2011 and the Azerbaijani League with Rabita Baku in the 2014/15 season. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Brenda Castillo (born June 5, 1992, in San Cristóbal) is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic and plays as a libero. She was a member of the Dominican Republic national team that won fifth place in the 2012 Summer Olympics, while she was named the tournament's Best Libero. Yanelis Santos Allegne (born 30 March 1986, in Ciego de Ávila) is a volleyball player from Cuba, who represents the women's national team as a setter/opposite in the international team competition since 2002. Santos was named "Best Server" at the 2007 FIVB World Cup and the 2008 Summer Olympics. Annerys Victoria Vargas Valdez (born August 7, 1981) is a retired female volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won four consecutive gold medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
