Vocea Ta (Elena Gheorghe Album)
''Vocea ta'' (Romanian for ''Your Voice'') is the debut solo studio album by Romanian singer-songwriter Elena Gheorghe. Released in summer 2006, it is her first studio album since leaving the Latino pop band Mandinga, where she was the lead vocalist until 2005. The album is of pop, Latino-pop and dance music genre, being very similar to her two previous albums with Mandinga. "Vocea Ta", the lead single of the album, was a smash radio hit in Romania. It reached #24 in the list of the most heard songs in 2006 and became later a top-ten hit in the Romanian Top 100. The second and final single from the full-length record was released in January 2007, although it reached only #21 in the Romanian charts, it had much bigger success than her previous hit. Elena Gheorghe
Elena Gheorghe (born 30 July 1985; ) is a Romanian singer. In the first half of the 2000s, she joined the Romanian pop group Mandinga, with whom she released two albums. In 2006, she separated from the group and pursued her solo career. She has released three studio albums and one compilation album. She scored a top ten in the Romanian Top 100 with the debut single "Vocea Ta". Early life and career beginnings Gheorghe was born in Bucharest to the family of an Aromanian priest, Gheorghe Gheorghe. Many of her ancestors were Orthodox priests. She has a sister, Ana, who is a journalist and a brother, Costin, former footballer. Her mother, Mărioara Gheorghe is a folk artist. Gheorghe debuted on the folk music scene when she was just three years of age with the song ''Sus în Deal în Poieniţă''. Latin music (Portuguese and es, música latina) is a term used by the music industry as a catch-all category for various styles of music from Ibero-America (including Spain and Portugal) and the Latino United States inspired by Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese music genres, as well as music that is sung in either Spanish and/or Portuguese. Roton Music is an independent Romanian record label established in 1994. The company has hundreds of employees, having offices in Bucharest, Iași, Cluj and Timișoara. In 2011, Roton Music entered into a licensing deal with Warner Music Group for some of its most popular artists and their catalogue. Mandinga (band)
Mandinga is a Romanian pop group band from Bucharest. The original soloist of the band was Elena Gheorghe who left in 2005. From 2006 until 2016, the lead vocalist was Elena Ionescu. Ionescu left the band in March 2016 to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Spanish singer Barbara Isasi. Multiple record charts have been inaugurated in Romania since the 1990s. The Romanian Top 100 was the country's national chart until 2012. Founded in 1995, it was a ranking based on the compilation of charts submitted by local Romanian radio stations. The Romanian Top 100 was published weekly and was also announced during a radio show starting in 1998. Compilation of the list was first handled by Body M Production A-V, followed by Media Forest. In the 2010s, the chart was announced during a podcast on Kiss FM, but the broadcast ended in February 2012. Later that month, the Airplay 100—which was compiled by Media Forest and also broadcast by Kiss FM—replaced the Romanian Top 100 as a national chart. Until its cancellation in November 2021, it measured the airplay of songs on radio stations and television channels throughout the country.
