Vladko Shalamanov
Vladko Shalamanov ( bg, Владко Шаламанов; born 25 April 1967) is a former Bulgarian footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Shalamanov played for a number of teams in the top Bulgarian league, most notably for Levski Sofia and Slavia Sofia. He used to captain the latter and in December 2013 was one of the footballers honoured with a special prize at a ceremony commemorating 100 years since the founding of the "whites". Shalamanov also plied his trade abroad, having short spells in Greece and Turkey. He additionally spent four years in Portugal before retiring from the game. He made his debut for Bulgaria on 12 April 1995, in the 0:0 away draw with Macedonia in a friendly match. The People's Republic of Bulgaria (PRB; bg, Народна Република България (НРБ), ''Narodna Republika Balgariya, NRB'') was the official name of Bulgaria, when it was a socialist republic from 1946 to 1990, ruled by the Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP) together with its coalition partner, the Bulgarian Agrarian People's Union. Bulgaria was closely allied with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, being part of Comecon as well as a member of the Warsaw Pact. Levski Sofia
Levski Sofia ( bg, Левски София) is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Sofia, which competes in the First League, the top division of the Bulgarian football league system. The club was founded on 24 May 1914 by a group of high school students, and is named after Vasil Levski, a Bulgarian revolutionary renowned as the national hero of the country. Levski has won a total of 74 trophies, including 26 national titles, 26 national cups and 3 supercups, as well as 13 domestic Doubles and 1 Treble. Bulgarian Cup
The Bulgarian Cup ( bg, Купа на България, Kupa na Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian annual football competition. It is the country's main cup competition and all officially registered Bulgarian football teams take part in it. The tournament's format is ''single-elimination'', with all matches being one-legged, except the semi-finals. The competition's winner gets the right to take part in the UEFA Europa Conference League. If the winner has already secured a place through the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group, the team that has come ''fourth'' in the championship substitutes it. The competition has been dominated by Sofia-based teams. The Sofia teams have won together a total number of 65 titles.
