Vladimir Belov (pianist)
Vladimir Belov (1906–1989) was a Russian pianist and teacher. A student of Felix Blumenfeld, he launched a successful career as a concert pianist. As a teacher in the Moscow Conservatory, he was known to be very soft-spoken and lenient with students, whom he taught as a group (his entire class attended each lesson, taking turns at the piano). Among his students were Aleksandr Baltin and Edison Denisov. He also edited a few Russian sheet music editions (typically with many fingering options).Grove Dictionary of Music

Adelskalender (skating)
The Adelskalender in skating is a ranking for long track speed skating based on skaters' all-time personal records for certain distances. As in samalog competitions, the skater's time (measured in seconds) for each distance is divided in 500 metre averages, truncated (not rounded) to 3 decimal places, and the results are then added up – the lower the sum, the better. The samalog system was introduced in 1928 in Norway, replacing ranking points in the traditional 4 distance championships, and can also be used to reconstruct scores based on personal records that were set before the samalog system was invented. Vladimir Belov (born 6 August 1984) is a Russian chess grandmaster. He competed in the FIDE World Cup 2007 reaching round 2. Tournament victories include the 2004/05 Hastings International Chess Congress, the North Sea Cup in 2005, the Master Open of the Biel Chess Festival and the Chigorin Memorial in 2008. Belov was champion of Moscow in 2007. He is also a chess trainer. Vladimir Belov (serial Killer)
Vladimir Borisovich Belov (russian: Влади́мир Бори́сович Бело́в; born 7 January 1972), known as The Khovrinsky Maniac (russian: Ховринский маньяк), is a Soviet-Russian brigand and serial killer, who received his nickname because he committed most of his crimes in the Khovrino District. Biography Belov was born in 1972 in Moscow. He received his first term for theft. Freed in 1991, he soon committed a robbery, which ended in murder. On 4 February 1993, Belov was sentenced to 15 years in the Ulyanovsk prison. There he met his future accomplice, Sergei Aleksandrovich Shabanov (b. 1977), also a Moscow native. In 2001, Belov was released on parole, and Shabanov was released three years earlier, also on parole. The first murder of the duo was committed when Belov's friend Shabanov requested that they kill the merchant Alexander Cheresimov. For 15,000 roubles (500 US dollars in 2001), both of them shot him on 15 October 2001.
