Piero D'Inzeo
Colonel Piero D'Inzeo (4 March 1923 – 13 February 2014) was an Italian show jumping rider, winner of six medals at the Olympic Games, and an officer in the Italian cavalry. He was born in Rome. Biography With his younger brother Raimondo D'Inzeo, also an officer in the military (but of the Carabinieri), in the international arena they have been called the "invincible brothers" of Italian equestrianism. They participated in numerous competitions in Italy and abroad. At the Olympic Games in 1960 in Rome, Raimondo won the gold medal and Piero the silver medal in the Grand Prix jump obstacles. They were the first athletes to compete in eight Olympic games, consistently from 1948-1976. Piero won 2 silver and 4 bronze Olympic medals. He also won the European Championship title in 1959. He died in February 2014, at the age of 90. Graziano Mancinelli (18 February 1937 – 8 October 1992) was an Italian show jumping rider. Biography He competed at the 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976 and 1984 Olympics and won one gold and two bronze medals. He was initially banned from the 1964 Olympics, as he was considered a professional rider for the Milan horse-dealing company of Fratelli Rivolta, but the ban was lifted the day before the Olympics. Outside Olympics Mancinelli won a silver medal at the 1970 World Championships, a European title in 1963, and six national titles. Raimondo D'Inzeo
Raimondo D'Inzeo (8 February 1925 – 15 November 2013) was an Italian show jumping rider, an Olympic champion and double world champion. Together with his elder brother Piero D'Inzeo, he was the first athlete to compete in eight consecutive Olympic games, in 1948–1976. At the Rome Olympics in 1960 Raimondo won the gold medal and Piero won the silver in show jumping. Being an officer in the Carabinieri Cavalry Regiment D'Inzeo always wore a uniform when competing in tournaments. Against the irritable and aggressive temperament of Raimondo, Piero was more technical and calculating.
