Vinco is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson Township, Cambria County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The population was 1,305 at the 2010 census. Geography Vinco is located in western Cambria County at (40.409239, -78.850192). It is in the southeastern part of Jackson Township and is bordered by the CDP of Mundys Corner to the north. Pennsylvania Route 271 passes through Vinco, leading north to Nanty Glo and southwest to the center of Johnstown. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Vinco CDP has a total area of , all land. Vinco Corporation
Vinco Corporation was a Detroit, Michigan based manufacturer of jig (tool)s, fixtures, gauges, gears, ground tools, index plates, and angle tangents. Before 1940 it was known as the Vinco Tool Company. In 1962 the New York based Recony division of the business produced air conditioners, heating, and ventilating equipment. By 1980 the firm made rocket-engine parts. Prior to working for the Belock Instrument Corporation in 1957, golfing great Gene Sarazen was in charge of customer relations for the Vinco Corporation. Ivo Vinco
Ivo Vinco (8 November 1927 – 8 June 2014) was an Italian bass opera singer who enjoyed a successful international career. Born in Bosco Chiesanuova, Vinco first studied at the Liceo Musicale in Verona with Madama Zilotti, then at the opera school of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan with Ettore Campogalliani. He made his professional debut in Verona, as Ramfis in ''Aida'', in 1954. He quickly sang all over Italy (Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Venice, Bologna, Palermo, Parma, Florence et al.). He began an international career which took him to Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Moscow, Paris, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Lisbon, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, San Francisco, Chicago and New York, where he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1969. During the 1962-63 winter season he sang the crucially important role of Oroveso, chief of the Druids, in Bellini's ''Norma'' during the ''I Festival de Festivales de Opera'' of the Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona.
