Vincenzo Torregiani or Torreggiani (born in Budrio, active in Bologna 1742 - 1770) was an Italian painter. Biography He trained under Stefano Orlandi in Bologna. Budrio
Budrio ( Eastern Bolognese: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna, Italy; it is east of Bologna. Budrio is the birthplace of Giuseppe Barilli, better known under his pseudonym of Quirico Filopanti, an Italian mathematician and politician. History Budrio's area was a Roman colony, whose territory was divided between veteran legionaries. The current town was however founded in the 10th-11th centuries AD. The church of ''San Lorenzo'' was already active in 1146. In the 14th century Cardinal Gil de Albornoz rebuilt it as a castle, of which the two large towers (1376) can still be seen, while of the walls only a small section remains. Stefano Orlandi
Stefano Orlandi (1681 – 29 July 1760) was an Italian painter, active mainly in Bologna in the architectural perspective painting. He is known for painting fanciful architectural canvases, known as Capricci. Biography He trained with his father, Odoardo Orlandi, a pupil of Lorenzo Pasinelli. Stefano first aspired to be a stucco artist, but then began learning from a mediocre local painter known as Antonio Rizzini. He then entered the studio of Pompeo Aldrovandini, who taught him quadratura, and with Pompeo, he went to Rome starting in 1713 where he completed scenography for the Teatro Capranica. He painted the church of Santi Giovanni e Petronio, working with the figure painter Giuseppe Gambarini. He was influenced by Giuseppe Bibiena. After 32 months in Rome, and only 23 years old, he returns to Bologna, working with Gioseffo Orsoni in quadratura, also completing scenic designs for theaters in Lucca and Turin. San Michele in Bosco is a religious complex in Bologna, central Italy, including the church with the same name and the annexed Olivetan monastery. The buildings of the monastery were acquired in 1955 by the municipality of Bologna, to house an orthopedic center named the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute (''l'Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli'').
