Vince Martin (actor)
Vince Martin (born July, 3, 1955), is a Dutch-Australian actor, editor, director, jazz singer and musician. Born in the Netherlands, he was raised in Australia where he started his career. Early life Martin was born as Vincent Markesteijn in the Netherlands about 1955, and raised in Australia from the age of 7. Career Martin began as a film editor on police drama series '' Homicide''. His editing career had begun at the age of 16 at Crawford Productions. He quickly moved on to directing television series for the same company. Starting in the 1970s he became a regular face on Australian television, with both guest starring television series roles, and regular roles in several soap operas as well as films with Gerard Kennedy, Judy Morris, Nicole Kidman and Carmen Duncan amongst others. Vince Martin (politician)
Vincent Joseph Martin (14 May 1920 – 10 March 2001) was an Australian politician, the son of Joe and Elsie Martin. He attended Marist Brothers Darlinghurst, leaving school at age 14½ and entering the State and then Commonwealth public service. Martin was secretary of the Panania branch of the Australian Labor Party from 1949, and in 1969 was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the member for Banks. He held the seat until 1980, when he lost preselection to John Mountford. Vince Martin (born Vincent Marcellino; March 17, 1937 – July 6, 2018) was an American folk singer and songwriter. He first recorded with the Tarriers ( Erik Darling, Alan Arkin and Bob Carey) in 1956, on the hit single "Cindy, Oh Cindy", adapted by Burt D'Lugoff and Bob Nemiroff from the Georgia Sea Islands folk song "Pay Me My Money Down". The record's flip, "Only If You Praise the Lord", written by Dick Cella, was a hit in England and Ireland. He became more widely known with his duo recordings with Fred Neil in the early 1960s. The album ''Tear Down The Walls'' (1964) contained mainly Neil's songs, recorded with musicians including John Sebastian and Felix Pappalardi, and became popular and influential on the burgeoning folk (and later folk rock) scene. Vincent John Martin (born 3 July 1960), known professionally as Vince Clarke, is an English synth-pop musician and songwriter. Clarke has been the main composer and musician of the band Erasure since its inception in 1985, and was previously the main songwriter of several groups, including Depeche Mode, Yazoo (band), Yazoo, and the Assembly. In Erasure he is known for his deadpan and low-key onstage demeanour, often remaining motionless over his keyboard, in sharp contrast to lead vocalist Andy Bell (singer), Andy Bell's animated and hyperactive frontman antics.
