''Vince and Kath and James'' (stylized as ''Vince & Kath & James'') is a 2016 Filipino teen romantic film directed by Theodore Boborol, starring Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte. It is based on the online series '' Vince and Kath'' written by Jenny Ruth Almocera, that told the story of two lovestruck teens, Vince and Kath, through text messages. The film was graded "A" by the Cinema Evaluation Board of the Philippines. It is an official entry to the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, where it won the Children's Choice Award along fellow entries ''Saving Sally'' and '' Sunday Beauty Queen'', and the Male Celebrity of the Night award for Ronnie Alonte. Theodore Boborol
Theodore Capistrano Boborol (born December 19, 1979) is a Filipino film and television director who started as a creative researcher for Star Cinema in 2000. Boborol made his directorial debut with the teen romantic comedy-drama film '' Just the Way You Are'' (2015). He rose to prominence for directing his second feature film, ''Vince and Kath and James'' (2016), which was a commercial and critical success. His third film ''Finally Found Someone'', is one of the highest-grossing films of 2017 in the Philippines. Himig Handog (Eng: A Musical Offering) is a multimedia songwriting and music video competition in the Philippines based in Quezon City. The competition is operated by ABS-CBN Corporation and the media conglomerate's music subsidiary Star Music. The contest ran from 2000 to 2003 and was later revived in 2013. The theme of the contest has been love songs since 2002.
