FIBA Asia Championship For Women
The FIBA Women's Asia Cup is an international basketball tournament which takes place every two years for women's national teams from FIBA Asia, and since 2017 FIBA Oceania. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. Basketball At The 2023 Southeast Asian Games
Basketball was among the sports contested at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. The tournaments did not follow FIBA eligibility rules; players only had to have citizenship of the country they sought to represent their national team in the games. This meant that every national team could field as many naturalized players or dual citizens as they wanted regardless of whether or not they had acquired their passport by the age of 16 as per FIBA rules.
