Victor Gervais
Victor Gervais (born March 13, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He is currently working as a scout for the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League and was formerly the general manager and head coach of the Victoria Grizzlies. Career Gervais was drafted 187th overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals but never played in the National Hockey League. During his professional career, Gervais played in the American Hockey League for the Baltimore Skipjacks and Portland Pirates, the East Coast Hockey League for the Hampton Roads Admirals and Florence Pride and the International Hockey League for the Cleveland Lumberjacks and the Grand Rapids Griffins. Gervais also played five seasons in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany for the Frankfurt Lions, playing a total of 266 games for Frankfurt. International Hockey League (1945–2001)
The International Hockey League (IHL) was a minor professional ice hockey league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1945 to 2001. The IHL served as the National Hockey League's alternate Farm team, farm system to the American Hockey League (AHL). After 56 years of operation, financial instability led to the league's demise. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. Major League Roller Hockey
Major League Roller Hockey (MLRH) is a limited liability company which operates multiple inline hockey leagues and tournaments. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, MLRH is one of the only full-contact inline hockey competitions in the world. The league was organized in 1998 in Alexandria, Virginia, United States, after the suspension of operations of a predecessor organization, Roller Hockey International (RHI), which had been founded in 1993. Anaheim Bullfrogs
The Anaheim Bullfrogs were a professional inline hockey team based in Anaheim, California. The Bullfrogs played in Roller Hockey International (1993–1997) and Major League Roller Hockey (1998) before returning to Roller Hockey international (1999). The Bullfrogs played their home games in the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. The team won two championships in 1993 and 1997, the only team to win more than one. The team also won the Major League Roller Hockey championship in 1998. The team also went to the Murphy Cup finals two other times but lost to the Orlando Jackals in 1996 and the St. Louis Vipers in 1999.
