Vicky The Viking
''Vicky the Viking'', known as ''Wickie und die starken Männer'' () in Germany and Austria and in Japan, is an animated television series which tells the adventures of Vicky, a young Viking boy who uses his wits to help his Viking fellows. It is based on the novel ''Vicke Viking'' (1963) written by the List of Swedish language writers, Swedish author Runer Jonsson. It premiered on the German TV channel ZDF on 31 January 1974 and aired in various countries. In 2013–2014, the series also existed in 3D animation produced by Studio 100. Plot The series' main character is Vicky, son of Halvar, chief of the Viking village of Flake. Unlike his village fellows - including most of the other boys of his age - Vicky has a sharp and imaginative mind which helps his fellow Vikings out of many tight situations, including rival Viking lord Sven the Terrible. Mushi Production
or Mushi Pro for short, is a Japanese animation studio headquartered in Fujimidai, Nerima, Tokyo, Japan. It previously had a headquarters elsewhere in Nerima. The studio was headed by manga artist Osamu Tezuka. Tezuka started it as a rivalry with Toei Animation, his former employer, after Tezuka's contract with Toei expired in 1961. (; German for "''Wanna bet, that..?''") is a German-language Saturday entertainment television show. It is the largest and most successful television show in Europe. Its format was the basis for the British show ''You Bet!'' and the American show ''Wanna Bet?'' The shows were broadcast live six to eight times a year from different cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. There were also seven open-air summer shows, broadcast from Amphitheatre Xanten, Plaça de Toros de Palma de Mallorca, Disneyland Paris, Waldbühne Berlin, and Aspendos Roman Theatre. Each of the shows, which were shown without commercial interruption, was usually scheduled to last for about two to three hours, but it was not uncommon for a show to run as much as 45 minutes longer. Nic Romm
Nicolas "Nic" Romm (born 1974 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a German actor. Life and work After Nic Romm finished the gymnasium in Jülich, a town in the district of Düren, in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, he visited the ''Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover''. There he studied acting from 1997 to 2001. During and since his study Nic Romm appeared in several TV movies and -series and films and took part in a few theatre plays. In 2008 Nic Romm took part in a casting show, which was arranged by German Film director, actor and author Michael Herbig to find suitable actors for his live-action film adaption of ''Vicky the Viking''. Günther Kaufmann
Günther Kaufmann (16 June 1947 – 10 May 2012) was a German film actor best known for his association with director Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Fassbinder directed Kaufmann in a total of 14 films, casting him in leading and minor roles. Kaufmann was also romantically involved with the director for a time. In 2002, Kaufmann was accused of murder in relation to the 2001 death of Hartmut Hagen, a 60-year-old accountant whom Kaufmann's wife had defrauded. The death was ruled accidental, but Kaufmann was sentenced to prison for lesser crimes relating to the incident. In 2005, a new police investigation discovered that Kaufmann was innocent, and had confessed to the crimes to cover up for his late wife, who may have been the perpetrator. Rat Pack Filmproduktion GmbH is a German film production company owned by Constantin Film. History Rat Pack Filmproduktion GmbH was founded by Christian Becker with Anita Schneider, Jürgen Egger, Alexander Rümelin, Catarina Raacke and Constantin Film in January, 2001 in Munich, Germany. Inspired by the "Rat Pack" of the 50s/ 60s, the company logo also consists of curved letters reminiscent of the lettering of the sixties or large casinos. Christian Becker (born 1972, Krefeld) is a Germans, German film producer. He is the co-owner of Rat Pack Filmproduktion together with German major studio Constantin Film. Biography After working in the film business for many years, he enrolled at the University of Television and Film Munich in 1994, where he went on to produce over 15 short films, commercials and documentaries, including the shorts ''The Wrong Trip'' and ''Living Dead'' by directing student Dennis Gansel, and shorts by their mutual friend and fellow student Peter Thorwarth ''If It Don't Fit, Use a Bigger Hammer'' and ''Mafia, Pizza, Razzia''. ''Vic the Viking'' is a children's animated television ABC series, which began on Network Ten on 6 July 2013, and continued on Eleven on 9 November 2013. It was based on the 1974-1975 anime series ''Vicky the Viking''. The show aired 39 episodes for a total of 78 segments, and ended in 2014.
