Vice President Of Ichkeria
The vice president of Ichkeria was the deputy and the first successor of the President of Ichkeria, replacing the latter in case of death, temporary disability or illness. Chechen Republic of Ichkeria is a pro-independence movement that controlled most of Chechnya from 1991 to 1999 (''see'' First Chechen War, Second Chechen War). Ichkeria's last presidential elections were held in January 1997. The Parliament of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria suspended the position of Vice President in November 2007 until next presidential elections. Said-Khasanom Abumuslimov
Said-Khasan Abumuslimov (also spelled Sait-Khassan Abumuslimov and Said-Hassan Abumuslimov) is a historian, writer and publicist. In the years 1996–1997 he was acting vice president of the breakaway Chechen Republic of Ichkeria under acting president Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev. Biography He was born on February 1, 1953 in the Kazakh SSR. In 1974, Abumuslimov and Khozh-Ahmed Noukhaev co-founded the Chechen separatist group Obshina. He studied History and German Language at the Lomonosov University in Moscow, finishing in 1981. In 1990, he received his PhD. Between 1990 and 1994, Sait-Khassan Abumuslimov lectured history at the State University in Grozny. He also took part in the drafting of the Chechen Constitution. The Republic of Chechnya is a constituent republic, a federal subject of the Russian Federation. It is located in the Caucasus region in south west Russia. It is the political successor of the Checheno-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. From a centralized form of government during the existence of the Soviet Union, the republic's political system went upheavals during the 1990s with the unrecognized establishment of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria which led to the wars, the First Chechen War and the Second Chechen War which left the republic in total devastation. Vakha Arsanov (Russian: Ваха Арсанов; 1950 – 15 May 2005) was a vice president in the Aslan Maskhadov government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Aslan Maskhadov
Aslan (Khalid) Aliyevich Maskhadov (russian: Асла́н (Хали́д) Али́евич Масха́дов; ce, Масхадан Али-воӀ Аслан (Халид), Masxadan Ali-voj Aslan (Xalid); 21 September 1951 – 8 March 2005) was a Soviet and Chechen politician and military commander who served as the third president of the unrecognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. He was credited by many with the Chechen victory in the First Chechen War, which allowed for the establishment of the ''de facto'' independent Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Maskhadov was elected President of Chechnya in January 1997. Following the start of the Second Chechen War in August 1999, he returned to leading the guerrilla resistance against the Russian army. De facto Ichkeria ceased to exist at the beginning of 2000. Until his death, Maskhadov was President in exile. He was killed in Tolstoy-Yurt, a village in northern Chechnya, in March 2005.
