Vermont Catamounts Ski Team
The Vermont Catamounts are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of the University of Vermont, based in Burlington, Vermont, United States. The school sponsors 18 athletic programs (8 men's, 10 women's), most of which compete in the NCAA Division I America East Conference (AEC), of which the school has been a member since 1979. The men's and women's ice hockey programs compete in Hockey East. The men's and women's alpine and nordic skiing teams compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA). The school's athletic director is Jeff Schulman. The Catamounts have won six national championships, all in skiing. The program's mascot is Rally and colors are green and gold. Nordic Skiing
Nordic skiing encompasses the various types of skiing in which the toe of the ski boot is fixed to the Ski binding, binding in a manner that allows the heel to rise off the ski, unlike alpine skiing, where the boot is attached to the ski from toe to heel. Recreational disciplines include cross-country skiing and Telemark skiing. Winter Olympic Games, Olympic events are Cross-country skiing (sport), competitive cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined — an event combining cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships host these sports every odd-numbered year, but there are also separate championships in other events, such as Telemark skiing and ski flying. 2005 America East Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2005 America East men's basketball tournament was held from March 4–6 at the Binghamton University Events Center. The final was held on March 12, at Patrick Gym on the campus of the University of Vermont. Vermont gained its third consecutive berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Northeastern. Vermont was given the 13th seed in the Austin Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the second round to Michigan State 72–61, after upsetting #4 Syracuse 60–57 in overtime. Both Boston University and Northeastern gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Georgetown and Memphis respectively. 2004 America East Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2004 America East men's basketball tournament was hosted by the Boston University Terriers at Walter Brown Arena. The final was held at Patrick Gym on the campus of the University of Vermont, and was the first basketball game held in the state of Vermont to be nationally televised, airing on ESPN. Vermont gained its second consecutive conference tournament win and NCAA tournament berth with its win over Maine. Vermont was given the 15th seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Connecticut 70–53. Drexel Dragons
The Drexel Dragons are the athletic teams of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Detroit Titans
The Detroit Mercy Titans (formerly known as the Detroit Titans) are the athletic teams of University of Detroit Mercy. The University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The school primarily competes in the Horizon League, but competes in other conferences for fencing and lacrosse, sports not sponsored for either men or women by the Horizon League. Fencing, a co-ed sport, competes in the Midwest Fencing Conference. Men's lacrosse moved from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference to the ASUN Conference in July 2021. The Boston University Terriers are the ten men's and fourteen women's varsity athletic teams representing Boston University in NCAA Division I competition. Boston University's team nickname is the Terriers, and the official mascot is Rhett the Boston Terrier. The school colors are Scarlet and White. The mascot is named Rhett after Rhett Butler from ''Gone With the Wind'', because "no one loves Scarlet more than Rhett." The Vermont Catamounts women's basketball team is the basketball team that represents the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.
