Vera Brandes
Vera Brandes (born 1956 in Cologne) is a German music producer and researcher in music and media effects. Life and impact Brandes began to organize jazz concerts and tours at the age of fifteen, one of the first being a tour with Ronnie Scott's trio. In 1974 she organized the New Jazz in Cologne concert series in Cologne. The fifth concert in the series was the legendary " Köln Concert" by Keith Jarrett on January 24, 1975, which the pianist wanted to cancel because of an insufficient grand piano and fatigue. The concert took place only at the persistent urging of Brandes. Brandes' first record label CMP - founded in 1977 with the concert promoter Kurt Renker - released albums by Nucleus, Charlie Mariano, Jeremy Steig and Theo Jörgensmann. In 1980 she founded the VeraBra label, where she worked as the sole producer and publisher. In 1984 she founded the Intuition label. Reinhard Flatischler
Reinhard Flatischler (born in Vienna, Austria, in 1950) is a musician and composer, founder of the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process, and leader of the percussion group MegaDrums. Biography Reinhard Flatischler was born in Vienna in 1950. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He subsequently studied drums and percussion with master drummers from around the world. In 1970, Flatischler founded the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process. Flatischler is a member of the scientific committee of the International Society for Music in Medicine. He works with physicians and scientists to conduct research on the effects of the TaKeTiNa rhythm process. He co-directs a project exploring rhythm in pain therapy along with the president of the German Pain Association (DGS), Gerhard H. H. Mueller-Schwefe. Andreas Vollenweider (born 4 October 1953) is a Swiss harpist. He is generally categorised as a new-age musician and uses a modified electroacoustic harp of his own design. He has worked with Bobby McFerrin, Carly Simon, Luciano Pavarotti and in 1987 received a Grammy Award for the album ''Down to the Moon''. Vollenweider's style has been described by ''The New York Times'' as "swirling atmospheric music, which evokes nature, magic and fairy tales". Hermeto Pascoal (born June 22, 1936) is a Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist. He was born in Lagoa da Canoa, Alagoas, Brazil. Pascoal is a significant figure in the history of Brazilian music, mainly known for his abilities in orchestration and improvisation, as well as being a record producer and contributor to many Brazilian and international albums. Michail "Mikis" Theodorakis ( el, Μιχαήλ "Μίκης" Θεοδωράκης ; 29 July 1925 – 2 September 2021) was a Greek composer and lyricist credited with over 1,000 works. The Lounge Lizards
The Lounge Lizards were an eclectic musical group founded by saxophonist John Lurie and his brother, pianist Evan Lurie, in 1978. Initially known for their ironic, tongue-in-cheek take on jazz, The Lounge Lizards eventually became a showcase for John Lurie's sophisticated compositions straddling jazz and many other genres. They were active until about 1998 with the Lurie brothers as the only constant members, though many leading New York City based musicians were members of the group. The group's name was borrowed from American slang. Theodor Franz Jörgensmann (born 29 September 1948) is a German jazz clarinetist. Activities Theo Jörgensmann belongs to the second generation of European free jazz musicians. He was part of the clarinet renaissance in the jazz and improvising music scene. Jörgensmann is one of a few clarinet players for whom unaccompanied solo recordings are a significant part of his work. He started to play clarinet when he was 18 years old. From 1969 until 1972 Jörgensmann took private lessons from a music teacher at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. At the same time he started working with fellow musicians from the Ruhr industrial area. During this time he was also a chemical laboratory assistant. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime.
