Ventura College is a Public college, public community college in Ventura, California. Established in 1925, the college has a campus with an enrollment of 13,763 students. It is part of the Ventura County Community College District. History Ventura College was established as the first college in Ventura County in 1925, when a junior college department was added at Ventura Union High School. In 1929, the Ventura High School District adopted the four-year junior college, four-four plan of secondary education, providing four years of junior high school (grades 7–10) and four years of high school/junior college (grades 11–14). Chris Beal (born August 6, 1985) is an American mixed martial arts, mixed martial artist who formerly competed in the Bantamweight (MMA), Bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Background Beal wrestled at Ventura High School where he placed second at the state championship for freestyle wrestling and was a CIF champion. NJCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship
NJCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championships is held annually in March at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, KS. The first official NJCAA National Championship was in 1948 in Springfield, MO at the Southwest State College Fieldhouse. The event moved to "Hutch" in 1949, and has been there ever since. The format has changed many times throughout its history, and until 2013 it was a false double-elimination tournament. Now the event is single elimination and consists of 23 games over six days. The NJCAA had only one division for Men's Basketball until the 1986–87 season when Division 2 was added. A third non-scholarship division was formed starting with the 1990 tournament. The NJCAA is divided into 24 Regions who form 16 Districts. The 16 District Champions receive automatic berths in the National Championship, and there are eight at-large bids extended. South Bend Community School Corporation
South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC), located in South Bend, Indiana, is St. Joseph County's oldest and largest school corporation, and the fifth largest in the state. DePauw University is a private liberal arts university in Greencastle, Indiana. It has an enrollment of 1,972 students. The school has a Methodist heritage and was originally known as Indiana Asbury University. DePauw is a member of both the Great Lakes Colleges Association and the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Society of Professional Journalists was founded at DePauw. Indiana High School Boys Basketball Tournament
The Indiana High School Boys Basketball Tournament, organized by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), is one of the oldest state high school basketball tournament in America. The tournament has often featured future NCAA and National Basketball Association (NBA) players. The Milan Miracle team in the 1953–54 season inspired the 1986 movie '' Hoosiers''. In the early 1920s, the tournament was dominated by the Franklin Wonder Five, who won three consecutive state championships, followed by a college championship at Franklin College. They won several games against professional teams. Jake Luton (born April 11, 1996) is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Brook Wallace Jacoby (born November 23, 1959) is an American former third baseman. He played in the major leagues from 1981 through 1992, and in Japan in 1993. His father, Brook Wallace Jacoby Sr., played in the Philadelphia Phillies organization in 1956. Early career Jacoby was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 7th round of the 1979 amateur draft. He played in the Braves' minor league system for five years, until being traded to the Cleveland Indians in 1983 along with Brett Butler and Rick Behenna for Cleveland pitcher Len Barker. Terrance Dotsy (born November 24, 1981) is a former American football lineman who played four seasons with the Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League. Robert Fick
Robert Charles Fick (born March 15, 1974) is a former Major League Baseball first baseman. In 2002, he was named to the American League All-Star Team. Career The left-handed batter, who throws right-handed, attended Ventura College and later transferred to California State University at Northridge. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 5th round of the 1996 amateur draft. Fick made his major league debut with the Tigers in 1998. In the final game ever held at Tiger Stadium on September 27, 1999, Fick hit an eighth-inning grand slam home run against the Kansas City Royals. Fick's rooftop blast was the stadium's 11,111th and final home run, as well as the final hit, final run scored and final RBI. Cedric Z. Ceballos (born August 2, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player. As a small forward, he played mostly for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers, later finishing his National Basketball Association (NBA) career with the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat. Playing career Ceballos attended college at Ventura College and later Cal State Fullerton. His career highlights include winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest with a blindfolded dunk in 1992.
