Velaikkaran (1987 Film)
''Velaikkaran'' () is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by S. P. Muthuraman, starring Rajinikanth, Sarath Babu, Amala and Pallavi. It is a remake of the 1982 Hindi film '' Namak Halaal''. The film was released on 7 March 1987 and became a box office success. Plot Ragupathy was brought up by his paternal grandfather, Valayapathy. He decides to go to the city in search of a new job and life. In the city he meets Vaiyapuri, who guides him into an interview in a 5-star hotel owned by Rajkumar. While in the hotel, Ragupathy meets Kowsalya and falls in love with her, and Rajkumar falls in love with Nisha. During this time, many attempts are made to kill Rajkumar by his uncle and son Pounraj. The blame for this murder attaches to Rajkumar's mother Savithri, who is actually Ragupathy's mother. Realising all this, Ragupathy takes an oath that he will not let harm come to Rajkumar. Pyramid Natarajan is a former Indian actor and producer, who has appeared in character roles in Tamil cinema. He made his breakthrough as an actor playing a role in Mani Ratnam's ''Alaipayuthey'' (2000) portraying the role of Madhavan's father, before playing the antagonist in several films. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Hamsadhvani (meaning "the cry of the swan"), is a rāga in Carnatic music (musical scale of Carnatic tradition of Indian classical music). It is an ''audava'' rāgam (or ''owdava'' rāga, meaning pentatonic scale).
