Jyväskylä () is a city and municipality in Finland in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. It is located about 150 km north-east from Tampere, the third largest city in Finland; and about 270 km north from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Bandy
Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey, rink bandy, or figure skating. The goal cage used in bandy is 3.5 m (11 ft) wide and 2.1 m (6 ft 11 in) high and is the largest one used by any organized winter team sport. Jyväskylän Seudun Palloseura
Jyväskylän Seudun Palloseura (abbreviated JPS) is a sports club from Jyväskylä, Finland. The club was formed in 1962 and their home ground is at the Vehkalammen kenttä. The men's football team currently plays in the Kolmonen (Third Division). The other main sporting activity run by the club is bandy. Their home ice is Viitaniemen tekojäärata and they play in Bandyliiga, the top league for bandy in Finland. Bandy JPS won the Finnish Cup in 2017. The club has been playing in the national top-tier Bandyliiga for years and played the final for the Finnish Championship in 2014 but lost against Oulun Luistinseura. The club was awarded the bronze medal in 2017. In 2019 the national championship was won for the first time. Their home arena is the Viitaniemen kenttä.
