History On 4 March 2023, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military reported that there were hostilities in the village as Russian forces attempted to invade Bakhmut. Village

Raion
A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as "district" in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast. Bakhmut Raion
Bakhmut Raion ( uk, Бахмутський район, Bakhmutskyi raion) is a raion (district) within the northeastern part of Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. Its administrative center is Bakhmut. Its area is , and its population is approximately . Created in 1923, it was known as Artemivsk Raion from 1924 to 2016 after its administrative center.
