A municipality ( et, omavalitsus, plural ) is the smallest administrative subdivision of Estonia. Each municipality is a unit of self-government with its representative and executive bodies. The municipalities in Estonia cover the entire territory of the country. Municipalities in Estonia are of two types: *Urban municipalities or towns (, singular ) *Rural municipalities or Parish (administrative division), parishes (, singular ). There is no other status distinction between them. Municipalities may contain one or several Populated places in Estonia, settlements. Matjama
Matjama is a village in Peipsiääre Parish, Tartu County, Estonia. It is located by the Jõhvi–Tartu– Valga road ( E264). As of the 2011 census, the settlement's population was 55.
