''Vanguardia de la Ciencia'' was a Spanish science podcast and radio program which was broadcast on the shortwave band by Radio Exterior de Espaﾃｱa, one of the stations of Radio Nacional de Espaﾃｱa (RNE). The program aired weekly, without interruption, from April 1995 until June 2007. It was available for download as mp3-files from the web pages of RNE from September 2003. The program was created by ﾃ］gel Rodrﾃｭguez Lozano. A total of 98 programs are still available online. In addition to ''Vanguardia de la Ciencia'', Lozano also hosted another popular science radio program and podcast, '' El Sueﾃｱo de Arquﾃｭmedes''. ﾃ］gel Rodrﾃｭguez Lozano is a Spanish radio journalist and popularizer of science, best known as the creator and presenter of the program Vanguardia de la Ciencia, which was broadcast without interruption every week from April 1995 until June 2007. Before the startup of Vanguardia de la Ciencia, he participated in other programs in Radio Nacional de Espaﾃｱa. He has also contributed to other programs of popular science, ''El Mono Temﾃ｡tico'', ''En Clave de Ciencia de Radio 5'', and ''Hora Amﾃｩrica''. From August 2006 to June 2007, he also wrote and presented the program El Sueﾃｱo de Arquﾃｭmedes. ﾃ］gel Rodrﾃｭguez Lozano was born in 1952 in the small municipality of La Garrovilla, near Mﾃｩrida in Extremadura. Radio Nacional de Espaﾃｱa (acronym RNE, branded rne, "National Radio of Spain") is the national state-owned public service radio broadcaster in Spain. RNE is the radio division and Televisiﾃｳn Espaﾃｱola (TVE) is the television division of Radiotelevisiﾃｳn Espaﾃｱola (RTVE), the public corporation which has the overall responsibility for the national broadcasting public services under a Parliament-appointed president who, in addition to being answerable to a Board of Directors, reports to an all-party committee of the national parliament, as provided for in the Public Radio and Television Law of 2006. The Corporaciﾃｳn de Radio y Televisiﾃｳn Espaﾃｱola, S.A. (; ), known as Radiotelevisiﾃｳn Espaﾃｱola or RTVE, is the state-owned public corporation that assumed in 2007 the indirect management of the Spanish public radio and television service known as Ente Pﾃｺblico Radiotelevisiﾃｳn Espaﾃｱola. El Sueﾃｱo de Arquﾃｭmedes was a Spanish science podcast and radio program which was broadcast by Radio Nacional de Espaﾃｱa (RNE) from September 2006 until June, 2007. Lucy (Australopithecus)
AL 288-1, commonly known as Lucy, is a collection of several hundred pieces of fossilized bone representing 40 percent of a female of the hominin species ''Australopithecus afarensis''. In Ethiopia, the assembly is also known as (瘠ｵ瘧甫怨 瘧雪或), which means "you are marvelous" in Amharic. Lucy was discovered in 1974 in Africa, at Hadar, a site in the Awash Valley of the Afar Triangle in Ethiopia, by paleoanthropologist Donald Johanson of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The Lucy specimen is an early australopithecine and is dated to about 3.2 million years ago. The skeleton presents a small skull akin to that of non-hominin apes, plus evidence of a walking-gait that was bipedal and upright, akin to that of humans (and other hominins); this combination supports the view of human evolution that bipedalism preceded increase in brain size.
