	Annelies Van Parys Annelies Van Parys (born 5 June 1975) is a Belgian classical composer of chamber music, symphonic music, music for theatre productions and opera. Life Born in Bruges, Van Parys studied at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, piano with Johan Duijck and composition with Luc Brewaeys. She composed in 2001 ''Phrases V'' for guitar, harp, piano and percussion. The piece of about 9 minutes was written for the Ictus Ensemble and premiered in Bruges by the ensemble Contr'Art. It was awarded the prize Vlaanderen/Quebec and was performed in Montreal on 15 May 2002. In 2005, she wrote ''Méditation'', a piece of about 7 minutes for a double wind quintet. It was premiered by at a festival in Antwerp's centre for the arts deSingel on 23 October 2005. Her first symphony, written on a commission by Luc Brewaeys and subtitled "Carillon", was premiered at the Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels (BOZAR), on 26 October 2006 by deFilharmonie conducted by Sian Edwards. 	Georges Van Parys Georges Van Parys (7 June 1902 in Paris – 28 January 1971 in Paris) was a French composer of film music and operettas. Among his musical influences were the group Les Six, Maurice Ravel, and Claude Debussy. Later in his career he served as vice-president of the Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique. He is buried in the cemetery at Villiers-sur-Marne. 	Germaine Van Parys Germaine Van Parys, also Van Parijs, (1893–1983) was a Belgian photojournalist. She was the first woman in Belgium to join the profession, which was very unusual to find a woman mentioned in the history of photography before 1920s. She left an extensive collection covering the people and places she photographed from 1918 to 1968, documenting key events in the country's history. Biography Born in Brussels in 1893, Van Parys joined the profession in 1913. By the end of the First World War, she was recognized as one of Belgium's most competent photographers. In 1926, she was a founding member of the "Association des reporters photographes de presse". She first worked for ''Le Soir'' (1922), then for ''La Meuse'' (1932), also contributing to the Paris weekly ''L'Illustration''. 	Tony Van Parys Tony J.M.M. Van Parys (born 21 June 1951) is a Belgian CD&V politician. Van Parys was first chosen to the Belgian Chamber of Representatives in 1985, on a CVP ticket. He was chiefly Minister of Justice in the second Dehaene government (1998-1999). Van Parys was part of the 1988 parliamentary commission looking into the "ways that banditry and terrorism suppression are organized n Belgium N, or n, is the fourteenth letter in the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide.
