Vamos (football Chant)
''Vamos'' ('Let's go!'), also known as ''Esta Tarde'' ('This Afternoon') or ''Esta Noche'' ('Tonight'), is a popular Spanish-language football chant from Peru attributed to the ''Trinchera Norte'' (Northern Trench), the ''barra brava'' of Lima sports club Universitario de Deportes. ''Trinchera Norte'' invented the chant in the early 1990s to cheer Universitario; it has since been slightly modified by supporters of other football clubs, such as Minnesota United FC, Orlando City SC, D.C. United, and Club Universidad de Chile, as well as by the fans of the national teams from Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. The chant's melody is similar to the Portuguese-language cheer '' Eu Sou Brasileiro'' (I Am Brazilian), invented in 1949 by the Brazilian teacher Nelson Biasoli. Teletón (Chile)
Teletón is a charity event held in Chile on a yearly basis since 1978. It is usually held during the first week of December, unless a political election occurs at the same time. The major Chilean television networks hold a 27-hour transmission, to raise funds to help children with developmental disabilities (most commonly cerebral palsy) treated at ''Instituto de Rehabilitación Infantil'' ("Infant Rehabilitation Institute") centers of the Fundación Teletón. In Chile, the transmission of Teletón is an event of national unity and, proportionately, the most widely watched telethon in the world. Mario Luis Kreutzberger Blumenfeld (; born 28 December 1940), better known by his stage name as Don Francisco (), is a Chilean television host, and a popular personality on the Univision network reaching Spanish-speaking viewers in the United States. In 2016, he signed into Telemundo. He is best known for hosting the former variety shows ''Sábado Gigante'' and ''Don Francisco Presenta''. Biography Mario Luis Kreutzberger Blumenfeld was born in Talca, Chile 28 December 1940, to Anna Blumenfeld Neufeld and Erick Kreutzberger, of German Jewish ancestry who fled to Chile to escape from World War II. He is of the Jewish faith. Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos (originally known as Estadio Nacional) is the national stadium of Chile, and is located in the Ñuñoa district of Santiago. It is the largest stadium in Chile with an official capacity of 48,665. It is part of a 62 hectare sporting complex which also features tennis courts, an aquatics center, a modern gymnasium, a velodrome, a BMX circuit, and an assistant ground/warmup athletics track. Construction began in February 1937 and the stadium was inaugurated on December 3, 1938. The architecture was based on the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany. The 1996 Chilean telethon was the 14th version of the solidarity campaign conducted in Chile. It took place on 6 and 7 December 1996. The theme of this version was ''"Another step forward."'' After the shortcomings of the previous year, mistakes were corrected and this time the goal was achieved - an important objective, as the following year (1997) the campaign would not be run because of Chilean parliamentary elections - and collected CL$5,692,426,301 (counting from 00:32 hours on December 8) delivered at the National Stadium of Chile. The 1998 FIFA World Cup was the 16th FIFA World Cup, the football world championship for men's national teams. The finals tournament was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998.
