Valéria Kumizaki (born 15 April 1985) is a Brazilian karateka. She won the silver medal in the women's kumite 55kg event at the 2016 World Karate Championships held in Linz, Austria. She is also a two-time gold medalist in her event at the Pan American Games. Career Kumizaki won the gold medal in the women's kumite 55kg event at the 2014 Pan American Sports Festival held in Tlaxcala, Mexico. In 2017, at the World Games held in Wrocław, Poland, she won the gold medal in the women's kumite -55kg event. In the final, she defeated Wen Tzu-yun of Taiwan. In 2019, Kumizaki won the gold medal in the women's kumite -55kg event at the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru. 2021 Karate World Olympic Qualification Tournament
The Olympics Karate 2020 Qualification Tournament was held from 11 to 13 June, 2021. The event took place in AccorHotels Arena sports hall, located in Paris, France. The tournament consisted of four categories for both men and women, as determined for Tokyo 2020. Each NOC had the opportunity to register one athlete for each of the eight categories, with exception to any category where they already have an athlete qualified for Tokyo 2020 through the Olympic Standing of May 2021. The four categories for both men and women included Kata, as well as three other classes created from the combining of the remaining five ( WKF) weight categories. Host country athletes (Japan) only were able to register and compete in those categories in which no Japanese athlete is among the 50 highest ranked in the WKF Ranking as of May 2021. Kathryn Campbell (born August 8, 1990) is a Canadian karateka. She won the silver medal in the women's kumite -55kg event at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru. She also won the silver medal in this event at the 2015 Pan American Games held in Toronto, Canada. In both events Valéria Kumizaki of Brazil won the gold medal. In June 2021, Campbell competed at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Paris, France hoping to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The 2019 Pan American Games ( es, Juegos Panamericanos de 2019, links=no), officially the XVIII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 Pan-Am Games or Lima 2019 ( qu, Limaq 2019), were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, were held in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019, with preliminary rounds in certain events having begun on July 24, 2019. Wen Tzu-yun (, born 29 September 1993) is a Taiwanese karateka. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, she won one of the bronze medals in the women's 55kg event. She is also a two-time gold medalist in the women's kumite 55kg event at the Asian Games and a two-time bronze medalist in this event at the World Karate Championships.
